  1. And I know they need bullpen arms but Topa...woof. Will be disappointed if he makes the team out of spring training.
  2. Why would anyone want Larnach's ABs to go to James Outman? He a brief productive stretch with the Dodgers but has otherwise been extremely underwhelming. And he's not exactly young either in terms of age or service time. He's been around. Kind of is who he is. Now you could say that about Larnach but who Larnach is - he's a better player than Outman.
  3. Nothing wrong with this trade. They need to start somewhere with the bullpen rebuild.
  4. Geez, what the heck happened with Miranda? Looked like a potential building block player in 2022 and is now out of the organization. Not sure if that has more to do with the player or more to do with organizational philosophies and player development (or lack thereof).
  5. And while it will suck in the short-term, and maybe longer than that, go ahead and tear it all the way down this winter. If they keep what they have and try to fill the roster gaps with no upside, cost-effective older players, that will make the 2025 trade deadline look worse than it does.
  6. I don't necessarily approve of Falvey and he's made some questionable decisions. But, with that said, he's in an impossible situation. The Pohlad's aren't committed to winning and to make things worse, I don't think there's a good line of communication between ownership and the front office. It seems like Falvey's kept in the dark and is on a need to know basis. Tough way to build a roster.
  7. Rojas is a cult hero for the Dodgers. He's already said he will only play for the Dodgers in 2026. Why is he even on this 'list'...
  8. Trading Joe Ryan and Pablo Lopez are the most obvious answers to this question...
  9. Considering what he signed for, France was actually a pretty good move by the Twins.
  10. I don't have a lot of confidence in the Twins' front office to identify the right prospects in a trade for Joe Ryan or Pablo Lopez.
  11. The amount of word salad that comes from this organization...
  12. I was way too hard on Popkins. He wasn't the issue. The Twins' anemic performances at the plate are systemic. Not sure what they actually teach in the lower levels, but whatever it is, it's not working.
  13. I don't necessarily see a rebound with Larnach because I think the 2025 season likely his ceiling at this point. He's not 'young' and I don't think he has a ton of upside at this point.
  14. Yeah, Rowson is the best option among the names being reported.
  15. Nothing would surprise me in terms of roster turnover heading into next year. The Pohlad's aren't done trimming costs. Pablo, Ryan and Jeffers aren't long for Minnesota.
  16. Falvey has become the master of word salad. I've never seen a front office guy use so many words to say things with zero substance.
  17. What's the deal with Tingler? IIRC, he lost the Padres' clubhouse in a big way and that's why he got fired.
  18. Happy Trails, Rocco. This should have happened after the 2024 season. Some good memories from Rocco's tenure most notably the Bomba season in 2019 and the playoff win against Toronto in 2023. And there's always going to be the game of, what if, had the Pohlad's not gone cheap in the subsequent off-season. And while Rocco should have been gone last year, the reality is, the Twins' problems go far deeper and a new manager isn't going to move that needle all that much.
  19. Royce has been through a lot the last 2.5 seasons. Burst onto the scene and looked like the Twins' savior. Then injuries hit. Then the slump (but he doesn't do those) hit and lasted for a long time. Then more injuries. Then the fire sale. He's an emotional guy, you can see it in the way he plays. And sometimes those emotions prompt him to say things he shouldn't. A lot of what he said though, mostly about the direction of the team, I have no issues with that. I felt that he was saying what a lot of his teammates were thinking.
  20. Yeah, no brainer for the Twins to take a flier. If they are able to catch lightening in a bottle, maybe they can flip at next year's trade deadline - presuming they're not in contention at the time.
  21. Clemens looks like a definite keeper. Just seems to make plays when it matters...and most importantly, cost effective!
  22. That series was a kick in the teeth to be sure. But, I think Joe P. made up his mind well before the ASB and the fire sale was coming regardless.
