  1. I don't necessarily see a rebound with Larnach because I think the 2025 season likely his ceiling at this point. He's not 'young' and I don't think he has a ton of upside at this point.
  2. Yeah, Rowson is the best option among the names being reported.
  3. Nothing would surprise me in terms of roster turnover heading into next year. The Pohlad's aren't done trimming costs. Pablo, Ryan and Jeffers aren't long for Minnesota.
  4. Falvey has become the master of word salad. I've never seen a front office guy use so many words to say things with zero substance.
  5. What's the deal with Tingler? IIRC, he lost the Padres' clubhouse in a big way and that's why he got fired.
  6. Happy Trails, Rocco. This should have happened after the 2024 season. Some good memories from Rocco's tenure most notably the Bomba season in 2019 and the playoff win against Toronto in 2023. And there's always going to be the game of, what if, had the Pohlad's not gone cheap in the subsequent off-season. And while Rocco should have been gone last year, the reality is, the Twins' problems go far deeper and a new manager isn't going to move that needle all that much.
  7. Royce has been through a lot the last 2.5 seasons. Burst onto the scene and looked like the Twins' savior. Then injuries hit. Then the slump (but he doesn't do those) hit and lasted for a long time. Then more injuries. Then the fire sale. He's an emotional guy, you can see it in the way he plays. And sometimes those emotions prompt him to say things he shouldn't. A lot of what he said though, mostly about the direction of the team, I have no issues with that. I felt that he was saying what a lot of his teammates were thinking.
  8. Yeah, no brainer for the Twins to take a flier. If they are able to catch lightening in a bottle, maybe they can flip at next year's trade deadline - presuming they're not in contention at the time.
  9. Clemens looks like a definite keeper. Just seems to make plays when it matters...and most importantly, cost effective!
  10. That series was a kick in the teeth to be sure. But, I think Joe P. made up his mind well before the ASB and the fire sale was coming regardless.
  11. I could be wrong - I usually am - but I can't see any scenario that involves a salary cap and if the Pohlad's are banking on that - they're worse than I thought.
  12. So all of those 'investors' we heard about...
  13. Haven't posted in a game thread in quite a while. In the process of moving and all the fun that comes along with it. At least they battled last night. Tip of the hat.
  14. I want to believe in SWR mostly because of the intangibles that good starting pitchers tend to have. He's confident and he battles. A few of his teammates could take notes. But, still not sure the 'stuff' is there or least consistently enough for him to be more than a 4th / 5th starter. Fingers crossed though because young controllable starting pitching is the Twins best (and only) hope to being somewhat relevant in 2026.
  15. The other problem is the Twins have had major issues in developing position players. Aside from Larnach, who has plateaued, young players don't just fail to develop but they regress to the point where they aren't MLB caliber players. I don't know how you fix that without gutting a lot of the organization and Joe P. doesn't seem to have any sense of urgency.
  16. Sure, they 'can' compete the same way the Pirates or Rockies can. But the reality is, they won't. I suspect Lopez, Ryan and Jeffers are the next to go and the Twins will have an even younger and cheaper roster than they have now. The only hope is that there are sweeping changes to the front office because I don't trust this regime to make the right moves or to identify the right prospects either in trades or in the draft.
  17. Joe is almost certainly getting traded. Hopefully the Twins get legitimate value in return.
  18. Miranda is more focused on building his social media brand than he is baseball.
  19. My dad took me to Yankee Stadium in 1991. Got Willie's autograph. Pretty sure I still have it some where. Was cool for me. Not only a Twins player but local product.
  20. I think some of Royce's comments fall under the heading of, everyone in that clubhouse thinks it but he's the one saying it. Doesn't make it right. But his comments are the result of a franchise that is a complete trainwreck. I don't see that Twins moving him though, at least not yet. 2026 is the make or break year. SWR isn't going anywhere. Pablo, Ryan and Ober are likely gone. And Abel, Bradley, Zeb, Festa...they could be good. They could struggle. Too many unknown quantities with the starting pitching. As long as SWR is cost effective, he'll have a spot. Roden stinks. Harsh but true. He should be a fourth outfielder playing 2 times a week and coming in as a defensive replacement. If the Twins plan on starting him or even platooning him so he gets regular at bats, then his spot in the line up is just another black hole among several.
  21. Agreed on Rocco. He should have been fired at the end of last season. Culture begins and ends with the manager. The leadership void is obvious to players. It explains Correa's ill-fated attempt at becoming a de facto player manager and Lopez's comments. They see it every day. They know what the manager does or doesn't do.
  22. Pablo, Ryan, Ober and Jeffers will be gone before spring training '26. It will be a long time before this team has any type of winning culture.
