Absolutely hate that we have no idea what the plan is for this team. They should keep all of the guys on this list. Trade Larnach as he is redundant and getting expensive. Didn’t Falvey just make up for all of his past trade inactivity in one day? I get that this is all we have to discuss because they haven’t given us anything else but I’m sick of this narrative.
MLB could also use a salary floor. This may help alleviate the gap between the Lewis's and Harper’s of the world.
Royce should make $2.5-$3mil in arbitration this offseason? If he can improve his offense the same way he did his defense and stay healthy, he and the Twins will benefit in 2026.
This is what Zebulon can do!
Play well, maybe win some games, guys that will be here (probably) in 2026 putting up some counting stats. Thats what I hope for the next 28 games.
Go Twins!
Bobby Nightengale:
Twins starters this weekend vs. Padres, per team game notes:
Friday: Zebby Matthews.
Saturday: Taj Bradley.
Sunday: Joe Ryan.
Looks like Mick Abel will be available out of the bullpen this weekend, possibly in a long relief piggyback situation.
No hot takes here. Wallner may look great at DH/1B. Larnach doesn’t have the performance and he is probably going to be too expensive to roster in 2026. I expect Roden to be an upgrade.
They have concepts of a plan.
Be nice to know who the limited partners are. Could they help Joe P with some of the decision making? payroll? Joe and Pablo?
Per Tollefson:
Per Stathead, #MNTwins Matt Wallner is the first player in MLB History to reach 20 home runs in a season and have fewer than 40 RBI.
20 HR and just 35 RBI is a bizarre stat line, but hey, can't argue with his results tonight.
