Great comment Chief. That's what I was getting at in my original post but I didn't want to respond. Sometimes it's just best to let comments go. I wasn't referring to 700M dollar FA. But c'mon, how about a few 15M to 20M a year FA. Hell, at this point I would settle for less.

I'll give you the Correa signing. That was an unbelievable unexpected signing. Very exciting. That's what we need more of. I am waiting for the day that might be a normal off season move. I can't give you the Lopez acq., that was a trade of an all star to get him.

You are correct on the 3 players, and man that was exciting when they did that! It was actually shocking. But that's not the norm, which you also alluded to. It will be nice when that's more the norm than the exception. Plus, Donaldson was what 5 years ago? Had to give an all- star to get Lopez. Correa was an exciting FA move.

I think it's just Twins fans are tired of the same "nothing" trades or acquisitions year after year. I think we are all waiting for the day we can make some real, difference maker moves. It's an emotional release i guess.

Wouldn't it be nice to not have to say "I don't think they will be terrible"? That's all I'm asking. I want free agency to mean something. Wouldn't it be exciting to wonder what huge free agents we are bidding on? Instead we wait until the mutts are left, and then we pick and choose the cutest ones. This won't happen until we get new owners. Until then it's not easy getting excited.

I can't wait for the next big trade! Maybe we get a back up, back up, center fielder? But then again, that player might end up hitting 5th by mid May.

Problem is, our roster is not capable of "turning it on". They are who they are and who they have been. My point all along. We can't improve or create more excitement until we try to improve to create more excitement. New owners! I know you don't see it that way, I get thumbs down from you all the time. You are in the 10% that have a positive outlook. That's ok.

This is it until new ownership. Yes it is a throwaway year for the players, unless all they care about is stats, and more importantly the fans. Save your money and find better things to do.

I disagree. I along with many posters on this site think we are all set with the roster we have. For cripes sake, don't forget we have Byron Buxton to hold down the fort. We don't need pitching, this is our strength. We had the best bullpen in baseball last year. At least i was told that. Didn't check the stats. This trade is the best christmas present a Twins fan could ask for! This might put us over the top!

Too funny. I can't believe how you all change your mind like the wind. Gonna be a fun upcoming year quoting all you guys that have rose colored glasses. How soon until everyone, including you my man, throws in the towel this coming year because Buxton is hurt, hitting .222 before getting hurt. Bullpen is in shambles. Starting rotation has a 4.50 era. Duran has blown 6 saves. The scrap pile acquisitions are out for the year. Actually never got on the field. It's year after year, but you just keep putting on those rose colored glasses. Why should the owner spend money? Why should Falvey do anything? We have the perfect team now according to most people. Tell me a comment of mine that is inept? I realize the people that completely disagree with me are looking at things as being a homer and a true Twins fan. But it's these feelings and thoughts from fans that allow the organizination to put subpar talent on the field. You will keep coming back for mediocrity year after year.

All im saying nurse is Taylor and Muncy would be top 5 players on our roster. I would do cartwheels at the age of 63 if we could even dip into their end of the pool. They are not scrap compared to what we are signing. That's how pathetic our roster is and our free agent activity. With all the contradictions I'm getting and thumbs down, I am putting my social security checks aside so I can afford those world series tickets baby! Can't wait to see what you all have to say in June. This should be funny!

Nope. And it looks like another mediocre to poor season. How can anyone like this roster and think it's going to be competitive? It's worse than last year with the subtractions. I don't get it.

Cmon Nurse you can do better. Muncy and Taylor would be top 5 on our roster, hardly scrap heap. We can't afford someone like that. I am talking DeSclafani. Topa, Luplow, Gallo, Paddack etc etc. (I know these were trades, but we can't do that right either. ) Guys cheap due to injuries or can't find a team that wants them. That's all we ever sign in free agency. We should start signing some in about 2 months when the meat is gone and the carcass is still there. IF we could at least spend to get a Muncy or Taylor, Twins fans would be ecstatic. I will remember you come June and see what you think of our potent line up at that time. Also, if you could post a list of mid tier FA's we have signed this winter, I would appreciate it. Maybe you could update it every week. Thanks!

That's how pathetic the Twins lineups have been for years. Nothing changing either until we get new owners and spend some money. At least go for some mid level tiered free agents, not scraps and players that others gave up on. $40M gets us in the middle of the pack dollars wise and maybe some hope with better ballplayers.

Problem is there is no bridge. All the bridges are being constructed on other teams. We complain and complain every year about status quo, then the next year arrives with nothing changing, and all of a sudden everything is OK. I guess that's the magic of a new season, baseball, and spring training.
