  1. For all the reasons already mentioned, until this team is owned by someone who values fans, I’m out. What I haven't seen mentioned is: For me, I’ve avoided Minneapolis altogether since the Floyd riots—mainly due to safety concerns, poor leadership, and how much the city has changed.
  2. BTW... notice that Jax is on pace for 39 Holds for the season...I have no doubts he'll shatter the current record. The MLB record for most holds in a single season by a relief pitcher is 41, set by: Joel Peralta in 2013 (Tampa Bay Rays) Tony Watson in 2015 (Pittsburgh Pirates) Kelvin Herrera in 2014 (Kansas City Royals)
  3. Topa did not pitch on Friday. Whose ever doing the bullpen pitch count graphic threw you a spit ball. Here's the box score from Friday.
  4. Three reasons? That was two more than I expected. The youth on this team might yet surprise us.
  5. Sales era is 6.62 I believe. But he hates losing. He could easily throw a 3 hit shutout.
  6. The more they blow, the more they won't. It gets worse when you think about it this way. For every blown game, ( a game you really should of won) you have to win 2 games just to get back to where you should be.....what??? Example: Twins enter Atlanta 7-12. (-5) A win puts them at (-4)...but they blow so now they are -6...meaning....just to get back to -4....they have to win two games. Funny math I know....but it takes two good things to erase one bad thing. That's how damaging blown games are. Not to mention blowing games has a compounding effect—morale drops, pressure builds, and fans get extra salty. That’s not just math; that’s human nature. But...the 1991 Twins won 15 in a row on their way to the World Series. Anyone see this team doing that? Who knows? it's why we watch, or eventually stop.
  7. Q: How is the Twins bullpen like IKEA furniture? 1. Cheaply assembled. 2. Full of confusing parts. 3. Collapses under pressure.
  8. Box score credits Jax with his 5th HOLD for the season. More things than Jaxs sweeper need fixing.
  9. Now he has something to fix. ---- "I just found myself always gravitating back toward the bullpen. I’m sure part of it is because I failed as a starter at the big-league level, and found some pretty good success in the bullpen. But at the same time, I just feel like my personality just thrives in that back-end, late-inning role now. I almost just look at it as, ‘If it’s not broken, why bother trying to fix it?’” Griffin Jax on staying in the bullpen (The Athletic)
  10. This is his 2nd horrible appearance in a row. Should have taken a loss vs the Mets if the Umpires had not gifted the Twins a run in the 6th inning.
  11. What ever mojo he had is gone.
  12. Its easy in this day of modern technology to follow other teams. When you compare AZ to MN...about the only thing they have in common is they are both smaller, underdog teams. MN has a better stadium and uniforms. D-Backs are fun to watch. { Upon further review.....13-11 Cubbies now.....Crazy game.... AZ more like MN than not maybe :) }
  13. Why does it feel like this team is built for April? Every year it's the same story...injuries. But it definitely feels like a franchise that’s always just one strained groin away from a losing streak.
  14. Nothing? Technically, Mickey Gasper does exist... : )
  15. I've had my pocket picked too, so I understand why you've gone from a dozen games a year to zero. I attended 13 losing Twins game in a row from 2011 to 2015....I felt like my pocket was picked even that far back.
  16. I thought it was a Houston hat at first glance. Can't imagine the uniform that goes with it.
  17. Wow, BRILLIANT...back the fundamentals!! Who knew that actually throwing to the right cutoff man, executing a sacrifice bunt, etc, etc were that important to winning baseball?
  18. What does France have in common with fine wine? - Both are enjoyed on rare occasions. - Both are over priced. - Both are commonly found in the cellar.
  19. France sucks. My guess is Miranda won't have to worry about feeling like a lost tourist in Paris."
  20. "First base is easy?" Tell that to the guy who just turned a routine grounder into a three-base error.
  21. Whoever makes it, with our front office... ....they might immediately traded him for two prospects and a player to be named later.
  22. I prefer to keep things simple, like Gary Gaetti: "I always swing hard in case I hit it."
  23. They say you get what you pay for, but the Twins keep trying to prove ‘em wrong.
  24. Signing Bregman would be great.... but free agents don’t want to come here, and the ones that do, we can’t afford.
