    I've heard a frequent phrase used by a few players.... "Ran out of gas". Or "running on fumes" Where the Mighty Marlins running on fumes as they traveled to Minnesota to take 2 of 3? Every team plays 162 games, last time I checked. "Running out of gas" is just an excuse..

    I remember the 86 Twins. They had a good core to start with. Guys like Hrbek , Gagne, Gary Gaetti, Viola , Burt Blyleven, etc ...In the off-season, acquired Gladden, Juan B, Jeff Reardon. We know how the story ends. Question is. Do we have a front office that has a clue about what moves to make? An owner that will prevent any possibly of acquiring a game changing FA? That's what kills any hope for me.

    In his 12 year career Puckett averaged 148 games a year... slightly higher if you factor in he didn't join the team until May in his rookie season. Just trying to get some perspective here. I'm not about to break out the pom-poms for Buxton.

    Bullpen is made up of 8 or 9 players. Twins can spend 48 million on two position players, but can't exceed 14 million on 9 ? That's a head scratcher.

    They are bigger fans of making wise banking decisions. If that comes at the expense of not having a solid left handed reliever in the bullpen....so be it..the balance line will win every time. To bad owning a MLB franchise is so profitable, or they aren't even in this business. Boycotting Twins games is our only option. It's the only language they understand.

    "But if your direct competitor does more with less." CLE is doing more with less regarding budget, but the Dolan's are bigger tight wads than the Twins ownership....the Dolan's spent more money on their daughter's wedding and they're paying 12 players in Cleveland.

    I noticed it the box score, Duran was credited with his 6th HOLD of the year. I'm sure his agent will point that out during contract negotiations.

    Saw a video on ESPN..two guys talking American Central....one says: Twins have the best players, but they are never healthy so it will be KC or CLE. This is a national opinion! No home boys. I don't mind hearing fans vent about this issue.
