I can tolerate anything. Just a little surprised we can't have a story of a player that is out performing his metrics along with all the stories telling us the collapse is coming!

But yet the doom and gloom continues!

What is all this doom and gloom about? First Roden and Kriedler need to go. Then Gomez is pitching poorly and due for a blow up. Lee is not hitting as good as it looks. Then Martin is the one that needs to go. Now Ober is the problem today! Can we just enjoy the Twins being in the playoff race and forget about all the doom and gloom for a while?

No. None of them can catch if Jeffers or Caratini get hurt.

Don't care if you use fwar or whatever made up stats you want to use. Neto would not be best ss since Smalley. Neto, from what I've seen of him should not be at ss.

Lets talk about that 40 mam roster. Currently its full. Are there some easdrops? Sure. Depending on your thoughts of players. I would say Rashi, Go and Gray would be the easiest. Unless a shortstop gets hurt, then he is the only shortstop on 40 man. Possibilities, depending on how much you like them would be Acton, Adams, Orze, Fedko. You could also drop Anderson, Roden or Wallner but my opinion is they wouldnt make it through waivers so you would lose them for nothing. So lets say they drop everyone but the last 3 off roster. That opens 7 spots and gives you 33 on 40 man. Now people want to add Jenkins and Culpepper. Gives you 35. Lets just speculate they either make playoffs and get eliminated in first round or even miss playoffs if that is your preference! 7 days after world series they need to add players on 60 day DL back to roster. That would be Lopez, Festa, Banda, Abel and Sands for sure. Paredes I could go either way on. That gets you back to 40. Jeffers and Minter would be free agents to get you back to 38. Now I would guess there are some prospects that need to be added to keep them out of Rule 5 draft. Also possibly some free agents to sign and you have 2 spots to do both of those thing with. Now if you would like to argue, go ahead! But at least detail who you cut from 40 man now and through the offseason to stay 40 man compliant. Jenkins and Culpepper won't need to be added until end of spring training 2027 if they make roster next spring. Go ahead and tell me the moves you would make. Include names, its not as easy as it looks to add them now!

Maybe he comes up and struggles and they send him back down. Maybe he gets hurt. Lots of things can happen. Biggest thing is he was already on 40 man. Jenkins and Culpepper are not.

Could be! Depends on how long he stays on 26 man roster and number of plate appearances. As long as he doesn't cross the threshold he would still be a rookie next year.

I think this comes under the heading of a panic attack. Lets wait and see what the rest of the weekend brings. Trust the people that know more about the situation than we do.

Just a sidebar to this discussion. One of the possibilities for Detroit to add Clark to the 40 man roster would be to DFA Outman. If Outman was still here that might change the discussion!

Judge and Raleigh also strike out approximately 30 % of the time. They should maybe be replaced also?

The shoulder was hurt in spring training. How much earlier was he bad????

Hard to tell anything with the bad shoulder last year.

First thing that comes to me on the visor is Frank Quilici.

At this moment we have Jeffers and Vazquez at catcher. Kirilloff, Julien,Correa and Lewis around the infield. With Polanco, hopefully Miranda, possibly Lee at some point. Outfield has Kepler, hopefully Buxton at least as Dh, Wallner and Larnach. Also possibly Martin. Where are you going to put these 2 hitters that we supposedly need? I am of the opinion that we need to replace Gray first. Hopefully bringing him back on a 2 or 3 year deal. Beyond that I believe filling in at the edges is what needs to happen this winter. First thing to figure out is the broadcast revenue. Then possibly a reliever or two. Also making a decision on Farmer. Most of what is needed is already here hopefully. A return to form from Buxton and Correa. A bounceback from Miranda. Continued improvement from some combination of Julien, Lewis, Wallner, Lee, Martin, E-Rod, Rosario, Funderburk and more should help more than adding to payroll. My opinion FWIW! .

How many posters actually realize that we don't play as many intra-division as we used to. It dropped by 24 this last year. Not as many intradivison games changes the story about playing in the "worst" division in baseball.

At this time it has disappeared. They don't know now what a new deal will look like. Perhaps it goes down and perhaps it goes up but at this point it is an unknown. You don't buy a new car after losing your job because you feel a new job will appear.

Once again, Buxton has a no trade contract. He's not going anywhere.

I don't think he changed his swing to compensate his knee. I think his knee affected his swing. Tough to drive through the pitch when your back knee isn't strong.

It is sometimes frustrating to listen to the calls for players who can help from the minors. Lately that has been Funderburk, Lee, Martin, Stevenson, Williams, Camargo and Prato aming others. Each of these players could maybe help. But eveyone of them is not on the 40 man. Hence someone needs to be removed from the 40 man to make room. Some people just don't seem to get that! Also the calls to trade Buxton even though he has a no trade clause, but that is a different gripe!
