Tait and Young both are heating up. For younger hitters they can be streaky - but I think they are both adjusting to the level they are playing in. Their is long road for young with an extremely high strikeout rate, but its good to see both making some hard contact and getting on base.
Gallagher had a nice night. All of the pitching in the minors seems to have turned a corner after the deadline.
Those hitters we took in the 10th through 15th round of this years draft all look solid. Schlovin and his HBP make me laugh.
Teel .389/.476/.500
Turner .294/.478/.471
Lane .300/.364/.700
Schlovin .333/.571/.333 (He had a 13% HBP rate in college and is continuing it with 3 HBP in 14 PA) - 14 PA 3 hits, 2 BB 3 HBP
Schlovin's upside is likely limited compared to the other 3. However I have a feeling I am going to enjoy tracking him doing everything he can to help his team and taking HBP at an extremely high rate.
Collectively this might be the most advanced group of hitters we have drafted since I have followed the team. Even though Tinneys average is down, all of them are taking professional at bats.
At this point I just hope next year the pitchers from this draft show as much promise as the hitters are showing.
