I said before you need 4 hitters to get hot. 1. Lewis is turning a corner fast with the bat. 2. Bell has been known to get hot the 2nd half of the season. A long with Jeffers that’s a decent 3. Culpepper looks solid. What a star for the kid. The bullpen is starting to look legit.

Similar to some of the pitchers we claimed has struggled early but performed better lately. Seems like we could use another pitcher that can throw innings. Would just cost a little money. $7 million total contract with bonus incentives. The articles seem to think no one will pick him up because the bonus structure. So far we have shown a propensity to spend money. What’s another $3 million ish LOL.

If they hang in the playoff race they will. I imagine with Culpepper up a few more will come and if they call up Jenkins and they perform I would not be surprised at some sellouts. Just what Tom wanted.

I think it’s pretty clear there was major dissent in the locker room. I have stated my belief as to why, but ultimately Rocco lost the clubhouse and this year Shelton has been a refreshing change of pace. We needed a reset.

With an average age of likely 50to 60 the assertion anyone on this board could score is hilarious hyperbole at best or grossly inaccurate at worst. We are more likely to have a member have a heart attack.

I am willing to bet 100% of the posters could not have scored on that play. He is likely the 3rd fastest player on the team right now with Buxtons injury. The ideal 13 player is player that can provide defensive value, be a pinch runner and have a decent contact bat and be productive all while getting minimal opportunities. The disdain of you and Harmon seems misplaced. Let’s get all the posters out to run. We might need a couple ambulances LOL.

Jackson is a single roster spot and has a positive WAR. His run last night as a pinch runner was the critical run in the game. There is ample chaff to go after. Gray, Roden, Martin. Positions where we have ample depth and individuals who can be optioned.

Why was our best stretch when Jeffers went down? who would you sign right now. Name 1 catcher available?

Name a catcher on the waiver wire as good as Jackson at catcher? I am ample fine in my fan hood. Without depth in the minors you are counting on luck to fill your hole. That’s sounds like excellent risk management Harmon.

What’s his War in the last 2 seasons. MLB doesn’t care what type of player you wer 5-10 years ago, it’s what you can do for me now. For a position that regularly has negative war, .7 WAR last year and .4 this year in limited opportunities. Look I can’t stop you from having you opinions but spamming the board 100 times a day goes beyond having an opinion. Look I am similar that I can be just as stubborn. If you can tell me who you think is good enough to fill in from the minors if Jeffers or Caratini gets hurt then I might think you have a point. Until then it doesn’t appear you are looking at the whole picture.n

He has conveniently avoided the topic of who would be the backup catcher if one of Jefferson or Caratini gets hurt. As of this year we don’t have any available competitive depth other than Jackson. That should be changing as soon as next year.

You either haven’t looked at the free agent list or you don’t know what you are talking about. There will be zero positive war catchers for $1.3 million. Maybe you can trade a 3-5 million excess prospect for a similar type catcher but you are greatly underestimating his worth because it doesn’t fit your agenda. Be happy Culpepper is up and stop the diatribe on Jackson.

We can say that about any position. Keeping Jackson is worth 3-5 million in trying to find another backup catcher.

How bad has defense been? We already have a square peg at 1st in Lewis. Lewis finally appears to be adjusting after 5 years. Not much different than Sabato.

He kept getting injured and prior to 2 of the last 3 games his bat has been pretty rusty. I was curious to see how they would handle the Rookies not on the 40 man. To me it appeared they would be conservative. It does not appear they will be. They can still manipulate service time if they wish, but I agree its doubtful if he is playing well. I think they still want to get the PPI award, I think they are of the opinion Jenkins has the better chance. It seems odd they are bringing up Culpepper but not Jenkins. If you are going to rip off the bandaid, rip it off on both with Buxton injured.

I think there is a chance they could assign him back to AAA before the end of the season if we are out of the running for a playoff spot. I think it tells you the front office is feeling a little desperate too doing this move a week or two earlier than likely they had planned.

Feels like Eddie Guardado to me. Even still finding a pitcher that is comfortable pitching the 9th is a very good revelation.
