    What about Mauicio Dubon as a possible 2B signing? He's a defensive upgrade and can play SS too. Not much pop, but he also doesn't strike out much. Had a .321 OBP this year.

    Pitching quality from Ft Myers up to Wichita is very questionable. Adding depth to our young pitching corps has to be a priority. Easier said than done, I understand.

    Winokur really needs to cut down the K's. Caden Kendle's K-rate isn't terrible, considering his power potential. Likewise Tait strikes out a lot for A+ ball, but slugs decently also. Jiminez looks like a K machine, even at A+ Lackey, in a SSS, struck out in 26% of his AB's, but walked more than he fanned.

    Jenkins will never be like a young Buxton in CF (who is?), but he has sufficient speed and instincts to be very solid out there. Which is reassuring, because we know Buck is at best a part-timer.

    If Royce could learn to punish pitchers for throwing on the outside edge by lining those pitches down the RF line on a regular basis, they would be forced to come back inside where he can turn on the ball. He might hit .275, with 25 HR and produce close to 3 WAR. I have lost faith that he will do that in a Twins uniform. I think it's in his best interest and the team's best interest if Lewis finds a fresh start somewhere else.

    I believe it was buried in the same news release than announced Maki's departure. So it is quite recent. All the stories from around the time of Banda's surgery (July) made it sound like he would be ready to go at the start of spring training. Sounds like that's been pushed back a few months.

    What do you think it would take to get Kelly? I'm assuming it will be a lot more than the 3 years, $10 million per that Vazquez got in 2023. But a lot less than $22M/YR for 4 years Jeffers will probably get. If Edwards proves too difficult to acquire, I'd settle for Arraez or Brandon Lowe... 😁 Yandy Diaz, admittedly, will be tough to get. If so, we can fill the DH role in '27 with a rotation of Keaschall, Buck, Roden, ERod & Kody.

    I certainly agree that Lewis, Larnach and Jeffers should have been traded earlier -- when we might have got something in return for them. That ship has sailed. We need more good players. Some will be our young prospects, other will have to be purchased by FA or trade. Simply moving Clemens to 1B is a major upgrade. Acquire a 3+ WAR second baseman. Sign Carson Kelly to catch. Maybe Roden can play some 1B and Kody can be the utility guy? Maybe Keaschall plays 1B every week? We can get better without breaking the bank.

    I agree that Ober has some value and is worth trying in a relief role.

    Not only does he compulsively swing at the low outside slider. he tries to PULL it. He's 27 years old. Coaching is not his problem.

    This exactly. Roden shows real flashes of multi-tool competency and MIGHT make a very good roster piece. We can cover 1B with Roden, Clemens and Keaschall(?) and all 4 OF slots have depth too. Now pick up a 3.0+ WAR second baseman and Carson Kelly to bolster the catching corps. If you've still got cash burning a hole in your pocket, Bednar and/or Imanaga would tie a bow on the next roster.

    Put Kody where he belongs -- Super Util. He can rotate between 1B, 2B, LF and RF as needed and play almost every day. Brandon Lowe or Xavier Edwards on a two-year deal lets us utilize Clemens' versatility and upgrades 2B for the Twins.

    Sound wisdom for a team aiming at 85 wins and a post-season berth. Give me Arraez, Lowe or Xavier Edwards at 2B and Carson Kelly at C. A couple of mid-tier relievers with upside and a solid starter would be icing on the cake.

    It appears Maki was the sacrificial lamb. Wonder how the Twins' pitchers feel about unceremoniously dumping him.

    Starters: Lopez, Bradley, Ryan, Prielipp, Matthews, Kremer, Abel Bullpen: Fundy, Hoffman, Ober, Adams, Morris, Gomez, Minter, Rojas, Festa If we add 1 starter by trade or FA and 1 reliever the same way, we have a staff that can keep us in a lot of games. The big question will be whether our offense, defense and base running can do the same.

    His scouting report shows that he was expected to be better than a "high floor" player. I would argue that he is SLOWLY working his way towards his potential ceiling. A 65 hit tool suggests a .275-.300 hitter, which he has not yet attained. But if he continues to improve, he can reach that level. Maybe 25-30 HR satisfies the 55 Power number? So, is a .280 hitter with 27 HR and 88 RBI (who also fields his position more than dependably) a 60 Overall player.
