  1. Right now it’s really a choice of what big FA do you want: a high-end shortstop (Correa, Bogaerts, or Swanson, as they’ve all been receiving interest from the FO) or an Ace in Carlos Rodon? We have a lot of money but not enough for both, unless this front office wants to leave all other fields (bullpen, outfield) incredibly weak
  2. 1. Like it but Correa will want more money 2. twins don’t need another 1B. Miranda, Kirilloff and Arraez are good enough and cheap 3. no. Brooks Lee looks like the next Trea Turner (minus the speed), his hit tool is easily the best in the organization. Trade other prospects if you have to. 4. I like this, should be on the table but Urshela should stay. 5. not very against Narvaez, but offer less money after his disastrous 2022. 6. Like a closer signing, but I think Jansen is too high of an acquisition with noticeable issues. Sign Rogers or Robertson instead.
  3. True, but his Arb cost, low defensive value and single year of control won’t make him super expensive. Give up a decent prospect or 2 and it should be enough, my ideal trade was Balazovic and Megill for him.
  4. Good list, Teoscar just got sent off to Seattle so he’s off the board. Happ is more of a left-fielder so he wouldn’t really fit, Bellinger’s struggles and the fact that he’s a lefty make him not desirable, Hernandez I could see as a piece but seems not likely, I also like the options of Hunter Renfroe, Austin Hays, and Austin Slater to provide righty help, with the latter 2 having the ability to play center and having more years of control.
  5. Rogers looks like he should probably fill a high-end reliever role or setup job, and could still bounce back to being a closer. His struggles in Milwaukee will likely make him cheaper and the Twins could use another veteran lefty, send him a contract for $6-8m a year on a 2-3 year contract (idk if the organization would do that, but let’s hope so). This bullpen needs improvements and bringing back Rogers could be an easy one.
  6. Fantastic Idea, the Bay Area also has some solid pieces the twins could trade for and that 1-2 combo would be wonderful in high-leverage, which is exactly what the twins need.
  7. I really like the option of Renfroe, Garlick just avoided arbitration and could be traded for scraps, Renfroe succeeded in being a middle-of-the-order bat for Milwaukee last year and demolishes lefties, making for a great platoon for Gordon/Larnach/Kirilloff/Wallner while still holding solid number against righties. Sure, his defense is shaky, but that’s a risk I’ll take when Wallner’s defense balances it as a trade-off.
  8. Don’t Chase after a 1B/DH Option, the only real big bats the Twins should chase after are Mitch Haniger and the 4 High-End Shortstops of Correa, Turner, Bogaerts, and Swanson
  9. Let’s Look to 2023 and see who’s lined up: Ace: Sonny Gray, 5-6 Innings #2: Joe Ryan, 5-6 Innings #3: Tyler Mahle, 5-6 Innings #4: Bailey Ober, 5 Innings #5: Kenta Maeda, 5 Innings (bullpen maybe, returning from Tommy John) #6: Josh Winder, likely long reliever to start the year. 3-4 Inning workloads to start, possible rotation piece further along. The Twins could get another starter and use Maeda and Winder as long relievers, or go get a long-reliever of their own, like Drew Smyly, Zach Eflin, or Matthew Boyd. Or just simply go get an ace who can eat Innings, like Shane Bieber, Carlos Rodon, Pablo Lopez, Tyler Anderson, or Chris Bassitt (all of which pitched over 175 innings in 2022)
  10. I don’t understand what the Twins plans are for the future at Catcher. There isn’t a single prospect at the position in our system that looks like more than a backup, and there isn’t any future help either. Jeffers will be a FA eventually, and the Twins should’ve drafted a Catcher somewhere in the draft this year. What did they do? Get 5 middle-infielders instead. Please fix the position, and fix it soon.
  11. Murphy is high-end, at would be a great addition to the system. However I feel that SS and an Ace would be higher needs and the Twins don’t have as much prospect capitol to get a stud like Murphy. That’s completely fine, as Jeffers feels like a Platoon option at worst. Shoot for someone with less trade capitol but still a good amount of control.
  12. Trade for Danny Jansen, the Blue Jays won’t need him and he’s got fairly even splits from both sides of the plate. He’s got an asking price but it’s not too far out of reach, so send Larnach to Toronto and boom you have your starting catcher.
  13. None of them. If the Twins do inevitably get a starter it’s Ace or Bust, and DeGrom is both way to expensive and has too many health issues
  14. Don’t trade Polanco. He’s been one of the best players in the upper half of the Twin’s lineup and usually plays most of the season out. On top of that, Gordon doesn’t look the part for second, Arraez is better suited for first and Martin and Julien won’t be ready until the second half. Even in the depth options Polanco brings power and consistency that the rest won’t bring. Hold onto him, at least until Lewis/Lee/Martin are ready.
  15. These are very uninspiring pitchers, they’d be solid #3s at best outside of maybe Taillon. Jose Quintana should NOT be trusted, or any pitcher out of St. Louis. Maybe it’s there staff vs. ours but they made J.A. Happ look solid for half a season. Also there’s no way in hell Manaea gets a 3-year deal
  16. Those teams have powerful offenses around them, and therefore don’t need a massive SS. Compare Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper to Nick Gordon and Max Kepler, or Altuve/Bregman/Alvarez to Urshela/Polanco/Miranda. This team needs a stud somewhere and SS is the most needed position and easiest one to fill with a star.
  17. 7 year, $200 million. It’s the Biggest Twins contract in history and he’s getting paid a premium but it’s not an incredibly long guarantee and gets you a stud SS for a few years before he like moves to a different position. Lewis and Lee can kick him over to third for 2024 after Urshela leaves and if you pay him low in 2023 you can probably go get an Ace in the process. Trade Kepler and pay Bogaerts $20-$25 in 2023 and you can probably go get Carlos Rodon, this front office has a suprising amount of money to deal out in the off-season.
  18. Looks like a non-tender to me, but this team traded Hansel Robles so I guess he could be traded. Send him off for a non-top 30 prospect pitcher if you can, just get him out of Minnesota. Maybe the Dodgers will pick it up
  19. Sign Bogaerts/Swanson to a 5-7 year deal, move Lewis to Third and use him as a backup or transfer the signee to third.
  20. Signings: 1. SS Xander Bogaerts—7yr/$200m ($24, $30, $30, $30, $29, $29, $28) 2. SP Carlos Rodon—4yr/$125m ($27.5, $30.5, $31, $31, $32m Club Option w/ $5m buyout) Trades: -Twins get C Sean Murphy from the Oakland Athletics for SP Josh Winder, RHP David Festa (#11), 2B Edouard Julien (#14) and OF Jose Rodriguez (#21) -Twins get OF Austin Slater and RHP Sean Hjelle from the San Francisco Giants for OF Gilberto Celestino and RHP Sean Mooney (#20) -Twins get RP Nick Anderson and RHP JJ Goss (#26) for RF Max Kepler and RP Trevor Megill -Twins get U Willi Castro and RP Joe Jimenez for SS Tanner Schobel (#13) and LHP Evan Sisk DFA: RP Emilio Pagan, RP Danny Coloumbe, OF Billy Hamilton SIDE NOTE: Kyle Garlick, Cody Stashak and Jovani Moran will start in the minors. Prospects not listed will start in minors as well. C: Sean Murphy ($3.00M) 1B: Luis Arraez ($4.40M) 2B: Jorge Polanco ($7.50M) 3B: Gio Urshela ($8.70M) SS: Xander Bogaerts ($24.0M) LF: Alex Kirilloff ($0.70M) CF: Byron Buxton ($15.0M) RF: Trevor Larnach ($0.70M) DH: Jose Miranda ($0.70M) 4th OF: Austin Slater ($2.65M) Utility: Nick Gordon ($0.70M) Utility: Willi Castro ($1.00M) Backup C: Ryan Jeffers ($0.70M) SP1: Carlos Rodon ($27.5M) SP2: Sonny Gray ($12.0M) SP3: Tyler Mahle ($7.68M) SP4: Kenta Maeda ($3.12M) SP5: Joe Ryan ($0.70M) RP: Bailey Ober ($0.70M) RP: Jorge Lopez ($2.65M) RP: Griffin Jax ($0.70M) RP: Jorge Alcala ($0.85M) RP: Caleb Thielbar ($1.45M) RP: Jhoan Duran ($0.70M) RP: Joe Jimenez ($2.30M) RP: Nick Anderson ($0.90M) Payroll is 6.43% under budget
  21. Correa if you want to spend most of your FA money, Swanson/Bogaerts if you want a smaller deal, probably Jose Iglesias if you want a stop-gap. This is likely the last year you will need to search for a stop-gap, because even if Lewis gets injured again Brooks Lee should be ready around 2024. However, this will be a serious year with a lot of FA next winter, chasing a title would be great this year rather than the upcoming ones. This front office can have $50-$60 million in spending and can get some marquee players if they play their cards right, so do it. Go out and get stars.
  22. This offense is almost there, the rotation of Gray-Ryan-Mahle-Maeda-Ober-Winder looks good, the bullpen and outfield need some tweaks and a good catcher would be nice. Trade away Kepler, sign both a high-tier Shortstop and Ace-Caliber Pitcher, then trade for the pieces you need outside of that.
  23. Trade off Kepler and Celestino, option Garlick and Wallner to AAA to start the year, have an opening day outfield roster of Buxton, Gordon, Kirilloff, Larnach, and a righty who can hopefully play CF (I like the option of Austin Slater, a CF/RF option who has about an .825 OPS against Lefties the last 2 years, has stayed healthy for a while and won’t be expensive to trade for or expensive to pay in his final 2 years of arbitration, plus SF has a string of young outfielders on the way and won’t necessarily need him.
  24. Miranda should be looked at as a cog in the middle of the Twins lineup, Wallner and Lewis have that potential but should start in AAA as depth, and Contreras, Hamilton, and Palacios shouldn’t be depth but depth FOR the depth, as in 4th catcher, 7th outfielder and 7th infielder. Respectfully, I don’t want to see any of them at the majors for more than 10-20 games unless they can prove there’s more in them than 4A players.
  25. Don’t sign him long term, not with Martin, Lee and Lewis all expected to be up by 2024. Urshela’s good but not a key piece
