  1. Even if the officer made a very very bad mistake possibly a criminal mistake it was not murder. At most the charge should have been similar to a deadly DWI accident. The prosecutor overcharged with no fall back for political reasons nothing more. As for racially profiling, when looking for a black suspect there is a zero percent chance you pull over a white guy, and when looking for a white suspect there is a zero percent chance you pull over a black guy. If we're gonna get upset that officers are pulling people over who fit a description of a suspect then what? It was not wrong to pull him over and it was not murder. It very well may have been a very bad mistake worthy of a conviction but the prosecutor didn't care to make that a likely outcome. I don't know what to say other then generally speaking even the worst mistakes don't justify years to life in prison.
  2. If i had to predict who would be the better pitcher the rest of the way it's Berrios and probably by a wide margin. I have a tough time giving a 34 year old to much credit for something that happened nearly 2 months ago. That being said Berrios hasn't fully proved himself Berrios has averaged 6.64 innings a start Santana 6.78 not a big enough difference to make much of it other then Santana has gone 1 extra inning 2 times
  3. Santana can go 9 but at this point there's a 25% you would trade in his start for a Gibson start. Santana is the game one guy just because he's a veteran and the game 2 starter is just as valuable, but in a one game playoff I might go Berrios.
  4. Most of America are sick of Trumps act, that's not a left or right thing. There was a congressional and state and local elections and despite Trump being beat by what I would call an awful Democrat candidate by a decent margin in popular vote Republicans won across the board. As for special elections one thing to keep in mind Trump as a political amateur might not have picked the safest nominees in terms of replacing them. Trend lines look good for Democrats in these limited one at a time well funded races, and if you look at the tea party example that looks like a big deal, but enough to flip congress still seems like as long of a shot as the Republicans padding the lead. Don't confuse anti-Trump with pro democrat.
  5. If you have an offense which we do I don't look much beyond top 2 starters and bullpen in determining who the true contenders are. Right now we don't have that kind of bullpen so we don't think about what that means. This lineup has literally scored runs every single game and scoring 6 is nothing for them. This lineup getting carved up can often mean 3 or 4 runs. The bigger concern is Berrios and Santana blowing up. I think people are still seeing this as a 70ish win team that's been getting lucky, we're exaggerating our flaws and ignoring our strengths. The nice thing about glaring weaknesses is if you do fix them it makes a major impact, and we all know finding 2 solid arms in the bullpen either through trades or prospects would not be a shocking event.
  6. I don't know that this year it will be easy to get a #3 but if we change that to a good #4 to improve the back end of the rotation we might be able to find 2 of those three from within maybe even all 3 if two relief prospects emerge. The main thing is get through this weekend 2-2 or better and you come out as buyers with the deadline at that point not that far off and a solid division lead.
  7. Have to think warning was a continuation of last night. Don't bark at Santana and neither warning happens.
  8. I've felt like a collapse is coming for a while. If you pay off the house that's like a 4 to 6% return depending on the interest rate. So it's not a bad move unless the market continues to be strong and even then not that bad of a move.
  9. A little more obscure but given my last name it shouldn't be hard to guess. Googel the name and you'll see a picture of him along side Babe Ruth in Dodger uniforms.
  10. The 6 month old is demanding he gets to watch baseball. He must already know he's named after a Hall of Famer.
  11. Watch out Buddy the entire Seattle roster thinks Twins pitchers are out to get them.
  12. And should Santana get Wild a third time and get ejected oh well he doesn't have it tonight anyways.
  13. The thing about warnings is the pitcher that's going good is gonna be less effective. Good job yelling at Santana it really helped your team.
  14. Everything's been frustrating since Memorial day and yet they're still about .500 in that span
  15. I didn't see any of Tuesdays game other then the last out or two in the top of 9th. This is annoying.
  16. So often those end up thrown into the right field corner for a 2 base error.
  17. Nothing worse then wasting slow bouncers on a great defensive third baseman
  18. I'd like to see a game where both teams score 20 runs in the first 9 innings then both teams get shut out the next 9.
  19. Don't worry as long as the Twins get 31 hits they should be fine
  20. Now that the distraction of the draft is over baseball is easy to follow again. I really wish we could debate if the bunt is a sign of cheapness or not but I don't know if those people even know what a bunt is.
  21. Looks like just filler today which is to be expected. If any of these guys end up playing 200+ games or pitching 50+ innings it's a win no matter if they are .218 hitting backups or 4.42 ERA relief pitchers. You never know but you can't expect much.
  22. If WAR is an accurate stat not many.
  23. My stance all along and the reason going into the draft I wanted Lewis even before hearing the Twins were giving that a lot of thought was that if a pitcher is throwing 102 and isn't a clear cut #1 pick it means there's a lot of development needed and one injury knocking him down to 95 will probably ruin him, and any pitcher who isn't thought of as better then that guy is nothing more then a development project or #2 or 3 starter. Drafting a position player at the top of the draft seems like the no brain approach almost no matter who that pitcher is. As for saving money the Twins should have been able to successfully negotiate #2 money with whoever they drafted as they had all the leverage so I think that part of it ends up being a little overrated, with the point the Twins had more to spend no matter what missed as they will spend it no matter what. In the end I give nobody that works for KFAN any credibility as they will always give the Vikings credit for spending to the cap while they will bash the Twins unless they outspend the Yankees. The Minnesota Vikings are the cheapest organization in Minnesota period.
