  1. No hard feelings. I blame it on a poorly place comma. Or Bill Smith. Either way.
  2. I mean thats how they read, not that they actually are assigned to him.
  3. Reusse's articles generally read like a middle school report, with the topics assigned to him by the Twins' FO. I don't know why anyone would take him much more seriously than the comments on there.
  4. I have a hard time caring too much about this move. I'm glad we don't have to watch Kubel anymore, but otherwise I'm hoping we flip Morales for some prospect(s) at the trade deadline. I just hope we don't end up in a scenario where the FO tries to pretend we're serious contenders and decides not to try to sell on any of our veterans that we can potentially get something for.
  5. I'd take Wandy over either Pelfrey or Correia. I'd take a ton of pitchers over those 3 though, so thats probably not saying a whole lot.
  6. I have no tangible evidence to support this thought, but I feel like Hicks may end up as the more likely trade candidate than Plouffe. Plouffe's bat currently plays better in a corner OF spot than Hicks and Plouffe has a lot more utility in that he also provides the team with a back up 3B, which gives Gardy lot more flexibility to give Sano some days off or time at DH once he's up with the team.
  7. Any way you slice it, no team is giving up anything good for a combination of 2 of Guerrier, Swarzak, Duensing, Thielbar, Burton. RPs like that are a dime a dozen.
  8. Sure, we have a whole bunch of RP, but besides Perkins, who do you really see getting anything back in return? Burton is worthless, doubtful that fien, thielbar, guerrier, duensing, or swarzak are getting you anything back that is ever going to make any sort of significant impact, and I doubt we are going to trade Tonkin or Perkins.
  9. The whole grounds crew at Comerica appears to be rocking Zubaz.
  10. For all my doom and gloom, I have nothing but high praise for Dozier. Watching him develop into a top 2B has definitely been one of the few consistent highlights of recent Twin's seasons. He's fielding great, his eye at the plate seems to have improved hugely (26 BB in 161 PA this season already, 51 BB in 623 PA last season), he's hitting well, he's running well, he's a good clubhouse guy by all accounts, and I think he could be good role model for some of the even younger guys in the sense that he always seems to be working very hard and trying to do everything the right way.
  11. This is asinine. One of them is an outfielder, one is not. You're also saying their CF contingency plan for months was assuming a specific player would be on waivers when they happened to need him? C'mon... And how does this justify calling him up? Having SS starting in LF/CF, having catchers playing the OF, having 1 OF on the roster, not sending down Florimon a long time ago, constantly carrying 13 pitchers, etc, etc, etc. If the only mistake you've seen on the roster is not sending Chris Herrmann down 1 week ago, then you're not watching. Sorry to be rude, but thats the fact of the matter. If you truly believe this, show me any stats, metrics, or anything that can possibly defend this notion that just Alex Meyer and a SS somehow makes this roster a playoff contender in any way, shape, or form.
  12. Quite frankly, even if what he's doing isn't "legit", I fail to see how it wouldn't be a huge upgrade over anyone we've had in the OF for the last month who isn't named Jason Kubel. Parmelee isn't the best outfielder, but put him next to Herrmann or Colabello or Escobar and he's going to look like a perennial gold glove winner. And even if he comes up here and flops entirely, he still can't be a worse bat option than Florimon, Herrmann, etc.
  13. Certainly possible, but we also have to remember he's a 19 year old kid in A ball. It will be years before he plays in the majors, if ever. IF our team is actually planning to be active in free agency and IF guys like Meyer and Buxton are performing well, and IF we knew we could sign an extension with Price, I'd definitely be about trading Stewart/Rosario for Price. There are a lot of other factors I'd have to consider beyond those though, so it's not exactly an easy question, especially since thats not the type of trade we're going to make in the middle of this season. A lot could change by the offseason. In regards to Shark, I'd love to have him on our team, but I wouldn't sacrifice top prospects and I certainly wouldn't bother if Rick Anderson is still our pitching coach.
  14. I doubt the Rays would even consider any offer from us for Price that doesn't involve one of Sano, Buxton or Meyer.
  15. Here's the list my wife posted: Oh wait, I'm not married. Have fun with your to-do lists, suckers!
  16. Probably easier to just find a new job in a different field, and I don't mean in left field instead of right field.
  17. Shouldn't be too hard to fit 5 people in a car as long as Gardy sits shotgun. We can send Gardy, Rick Anderson, Antony, and TR along with whoever we DFA.
  18. Whats Lew Ford up to? He'd be an upgrade in the outfield and he's only in his late 30s.
  19. Just about blew up Shaw's face on that hit right there.
  20. What? I thought this was America?
  21. Like I said, hindsight is 20/20. I'm sure if we had signed Nyjer Morgan in January we would've had 30 threads about how unhappy people were with the signing and how bad it was for the clubhouse and how it was going to block playing time for Hicks or Arcia or a million other factors. This is in no way saying our current situation is good or better or even remotely acceptable.
  22. I never argued he shouldn't have been. Find me all these posts of people in January r earlier clamoring about how much Nyjer Morgan would help the team though.
  23. And the point still stands that in January there were better options than Nyjer Morgan that we could've got, but the FO settled on an even worse option of Bartlett. This isn't like Cleveland just got him off waivers and we could've had him instead of Fuld as a temporary fill in.
  24. "On January 14, 2014, Morgan announced that he had signed a minor league contract with an invitation to Spring Training with the Cleveland Indians.[29] In spring training, he earned a spot on the 25 man roster and started the 2014 season as the starting center fielder and lead-off batter." Hindsight is 20/20, but on January 14th, none of us actually thought we were going to break camp with Bartlett as an outfielder and no viable options in AAA and have Arcia, Willingham, and Hicks injuries in the first month.
