  1. And Plouffe and Dozier have proven they're ready for it with their performance this year?
  2. Any lineup that doesn't have Park in the 4 hole at this point in the season is simply wrong. There is no argument Molitor can possibly provide that would justify Park batting 6th.
  3. Oof. That lineup. Why is Mastroianni leading off? Why is Park still hitting behind Plouffe? Plouffe: .236/.263/.681 Park: .268/.344/.942 Why is Park not in the 4 hole? Why in the hell does Molitor keep batting him 5th or 6th? This is starting to anger me (more).

  5. While you certainly may be right on the career length and success, the issue is also that we were even put in this situation with CF to begin with, yet again. Buxton had shown nothing yet to lead us to believe he was going to be ready to play full time CF in the majors to start this season, yet we put ourselves in a situation where if/when he failed, our backup options were once again an infielder and Mastroianni. Obviously now we can see that Hicks hasn't been playing well either, but the planning was poor, after making the same mistake previously. It was less a bash on the Hicks for Murphy swap and more a bash on the poor planning that surrounded it. I'm not too happy that Murphy was also supposed to be our grand solution at catcher, but thats a whole different discussion. Certainly too early to pick a winner and loser of that trade, but it hasn't exactly worked as either team planned.
  6. Aaron Hicks? Maybe MLB ready was a stretch but certainly a hell of a lot better option than Santana. Or Mastroianni. Or throwing Buxton out there to flounder with no real backup option, same as we did to Hicks.
  7. We'll have to agree to disagree. The roster construction, pitching staff, and performance of the team seems to be much closer to 4 years ago than anything I would consider "rebuilt". I don't know how you can say to leave the BS in the past when we're still right in the middle of it. It's hard to leave it in the past when your GM has continued to operate the exact same way each offseason and then acts surprised when his failed tactics continue to fail. I don't enjoy watching the Twins play this poorly, I don't think any of us do. I just fail to see how we intend to drastically improve when our GM refuses to address our positions of need. Our bullpen has been weak for years. What do we do every offseason? Sign has-beens and never-has-beens. Our catching has been very very weak. What do we do? Trade our one MLB ready CF for a catcher who makes Suzuki look like Mike Piazza. Log jam in the corners of the infield? Let's move our top prospect to RF where he has never played, to make space for Trevor Plouffe. It's not like we're 2 prospects away from being a WS contender. Hell, our top pitcher is probably worse than any serious playoff contender's 3rd starter. I know we can't change the offseason moves now in the middle of the season, but this team can't fix all of it's issues in the middle of the season either. It's crazy to try to pretend the last few years of BS haven't led to where we are today.
  8. 4 years ago people were saying the same things about being calm and we had plenty of time for our young prospects to develop. So, if its 2016 and we're only on step 2 of 5, when exactly do we get to the part where we aren't awful?
  9. Replace the entire FO with people who don't put themselves in these terribly predictable positions?
  10. I say we give it the ol' switcheroo tonight and play the bullpen on the field and put our fielders into the pen. Rosario has a more accurate arm from the outfield than our pitchers do from the mound, so I'm thinking this just might work.
  11. I wouldn't say Murphy is an obvious part of the future either, to be honest. At best he's a mediocre back up catcher...so, I guess you're right, I'm sure he's going to be a Twin's staple behind the plate for a while.
  12. "Well boys, we did some things and some things happened, so now we're gonna do some other things we've done before with no success to see if things change. Yep, we got ourselves one hell of a game plan here." Meanwhile, the Twins fans also have their game plans figured out:
  13. It would appear he's been mentoring Buxton on the fine art of striking out.

  15. And when that happens, I can pretty much give up on this team because he'll be even worse than TR.
  16. To be fair, its far too late at this point. With that said, he'll probably get put in after we give up a few more runs.
  17. Honestly, what is the ****ing point of having May in the bullpen if we never use him when it matters?
  18. So...why isn't May in there already? Saving him for that non existent 9th, huh? Couldn't he pitch two innings since you know, he hasn't thrown since Friday when he threw a 'whopping' 49 pitches.
  19. As much as I hate what Ryan is doing and think he needs to get the hell out, what are the chances the next GM isn't Antony or another one of the good old boys club?
  20. I hope that none of our bullpen is still here next season, excluding May back to the rotation.
  21. Oh, hey. What a surprise. Seriously, how does TR have his ****ing job still? Though I'm sure whenever he's gone it'll just be Antony or something no better. This FO is a waste of oxygen.
  22. Can we clone a few more Sanos? Just toss em in all the corner positions and DH. Sano batting 2-6 would work pretty nice.
  23. So could I http://replygif.net/i/214.gif
  24. Cue up the Benny Hill music. Its bullpen time, boys!
  25. You could always watch both, for double the suffering.
