He didnt want to risk hurting his confidence by letting him possibly give up some more runs. So, he hurt his confidence by pulling him in a game that doesn't mean a thing. Makes sense...

We already locked that in, so that excuse doesn't work anymore.

I don't think Logan Schafer would bat anywhere in another MLB lineup. Yet with the Twins he gets to bat 5th. And Grossman playing DH and batting second is just insult to injury.

This forum is going to implode if that is the case. And I'm sure if Antony is GM then Molitor will be staying as well.

    Rob Antony.

Yeah, I'm guessing the person keeping track of attendance numbers may also be a little bit high if they think there are 18,000 people there. I'm guessing most the people still watching the Twins also may be a little bit high. Or a lot bit.

Maybe sweatpants and no gloves would be an upgrade. It can't be much worse.
  14. S.
I think they meant 18 and 1000. Though, that also may be a little high.

Yeah, you're probably right. Overall point still stands though.

Thats a lofty expectation, especially considering Santana is pitching better this year than his career averages, by a pretty large margin. I have no reason to believe Gibson is magically going to turn a corner and improve drastically. May is a complete question mark and it'd be foolish to assume he's a sure-fire upgrade over the mess this year. Berrios I'd expect to improve, but thats not saying much. Santiago is average at best. Looks like the makings for another bad rotation to me.

Every time I look at these lineups Molitor is trotting out I wonder if he genuinely thought it was a good idea or if he's intentionally trying to tank and/or get fired. Grossman in the 3 hole? I feel like I'm living in a bizarro world

I'd suggest skipping the part where you wait to see if the Twins are crap tonight, because the answer is quite definitive.

I think how it works is that we have to break him to get the insurance to pay out. Or something like that.

Give it a day or two and we'll get to watch Schafer and Grossman in the outfield at the same time. Maybe if we're real lucky, in a couple weeks Santana will be back and we can play our outfield of the future. Grossman/Schafer/Santana http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/2011/09/mind_blown.gif *I apologize in advance for any aneurysms, strokes, or heart attacks this post may have caused.

Are you alive? Are you good at taking strike three calls? Can you throw it from left field to the very edge of the infield? If you answered yes to all of these questions, you may be qualified for Robbie Grossman's job.

Looks like he's going to have to wait to get that day off, because he's starting in LF tonight.

As much as I want him gone, there is no reason not to wait until the offseason at this point. Hire a new GM and president of baseball operations and let them sort out the coaching staffs this offseason.
