    Dozier deserves some of the blame on the single too. Waiting on the second hop on that is bush league. Yeah, I just don't remember it being this constant. Seems like he's made 5 awful throws in the last 2 weeks alone.

    Recently went on a bit of a Cormack McCarthy kick and flew through Blood Meridian, The Road, No Country for Old Men, and Child of God. Then read Audition and In The Miso Soup by Ryu Murakami. Then ran out of motivation to read and went back to wasting my time on tv and internet. I seem to go in phases where I'll suddenly have motivation to read and get through a bunch of stuff all at once, then run out of motivation and read nothing for a while.

    Garver isn't an MLB caliber catcher but we've still been using him behind the plate.

    Oof at Dozier and Grossman in the 3 and 4 spots. Also, oof at the whole lineup.

    Why in god's name is Matt Belisle still on this team? Honestly, is there a single valid explanation that could possibly justify it, cuz I sure can't think of one

    While I agree it would be very nice, I can't say I'm too confident that he's going to replicate the numbers he was putting up while on PEDs. The likelihood of him ever being a 4 WAR player over a full season is probably close to 0.

    Is Molitor's plan to overwork Pressly to death to insure no other team can ever use him again after this season? Seeing as he is awful, wouldn't we want other teams to be able to use him after this season?

    I don't think Castro, Polanco and Mauer were projected to be some of our best players this year. And if they were, then thats a big problem too.

    Heads up baseball, Logan. What exactly does this team have to do before Molitor is fired? There are little league teams that have better fundamentals than this team.

    Interleague play in an NL park. 4 man bench, 3 of them likely unavailable. Whole damn bullpen pitched yesterday. Didn't call up a single player for todays game. What the hell is this front office doing?

    But he's a real clubhouse leader while he's striking out or halfassing it down the line on a ground out.

    Great. Bullpen already up in the 2nd. Over/under on 10.5 runs for the Cubs today?

    Ouch. At this pace, we're going to get 5+ innings of relief pitching.

    Blanking on the name, but one Cubs player left with cramps, which likely was a result of dehydration from the heat.

    Also, I don't think anyone is arguing that it isn't hot as all hell out there, but the fact is thats no excuse for our awful play. Plenty of other teams don't forget how to play baseball when its hot outside.

    Are you implying that prior to recent years, the players never ran at full speed or swung at full strength or threw as hard as they could?

    The team still sucks even when the heat index isn't 110 though.

    Well, its certainly possible that he'll pass out from the heat, if thats what you mean by lights out.

    I don't see how they can put Wilson behind the plate next inning. He looks like he's about to keel over just standing out there on the bases.
