  1. Has a team ever had to forfeit a game because they ran out of players and couldn't field 9 on the field?
  2. I feel like Gene Glynn is an awful 3rd base coach but I don't think I have enough evidence to back it up. Seems like he has waved a bunch of guys around this year who then got thrown out by a mile, and he tries to hold guys up when they can easily score. But, I guess on the list of my concerns about the team, thats probably on the 5th or 6th page.
  3. That breakdown by LaTroy was basically, "if the entire lineup starts playing well we're going to win some ballgames."
  4. His entire pitching repertoire is meatball and slower meatball.
  5. Went to check on the beef jerky I'm making. Come back and Belisle is in the game. And they've already scored more runs. And they have 2 more men on base with 1 out. Who could've possibly seen that coming?
  6. Get Belisle out there to throw like 50 pitches so maybe he'll be unavailable for the rest of the weekend.
  7. No matter how hard the wind is blowing out, you still can't hit on a home run on a strikeout. Hurricanes excluded.
  8. Managers don't impact the outcome of games, but veteran clubhouse guys are hugely important even if said veteran is a negative WAR player. Makes sense, right?
  9. 93mph meatball right down the middle. And a swinging strikeout.
  10. I agree that Escobar hasn't been a part of the problem. I just meant that poster made it seem like if we traded Escobar we'd be ruining a good clubhouse environment, and I was saying I don't think there is a good clubhouse environment to ruin. So, for me at least, the whole leadership/good clubhouse presence angle is a non factor in any Escobar trade discussions. I know the players and fans all love the guy and he's definitely a good clubhouse guy, but I do not care about that at all if we're not winning games.
  11. Based on how garbage this team has been playing and how little effort some of the players seem to be giving it, I'm pretty sure the clubhouse is already gone. And if it isn't gone, why would we want to maintain the sort of clubhouse culture that currently exists and is providing us with the embarrassing quality of play that we've been witnessing all season?
  12. See, in order for that to work, you need to have MLB quality hitters. (I think we might have 1 or 2 of those somewhere)
  13. I was hoping to be pleasantly surprised when there wasn't, but we weren't granted the mercy of avoiding another Beslisle appearance.
  14. I guess on the bright side, the umps getting the call wrong on Grossman means that we don't have to start next inning with Dozier. The downside is we're going to get Morrison, Adrianza and Cave. The other downside is the other 6 members of the lineup.
  15. Ah yes, the ol' walk someone to get to the cleanup hitter. Depressing.
  16. He absolutely was. I have no idea what the point of the reviews is when they don't even get them right half the time.
  17. So, you can review your own review? What the hell is even going on here?
  18. Man, I've been bitching about Reed and Pressly and somehow managed to forget that Matt Belisle is still in our pen too. Which brings me to the question, why is Matt Belisle still in our pen?
  19. I think they should be paying us for watching this.
  20. Where is Chris Gimenez when you need him?
