  1. It's also hard to include a pitcher with 41 IP and I'm hesitant to call Gibson a late bloomer until we see if he can maintain this sort of performance over a couple seasons and not just 75 IP. Let's not forget he had an ERA over 5 and a WHIP over 1.5 the previous two seasons. And while I definitely think he's turned a corner, he wouldn't be the first pitcher to have a good season and then regress back to his average. And that's not to say Gibson hasn't had other stretches where he looked good too, but he's going to need to maintain his success a bit longer before I'd start considering him a real success story (and i'm certainly rooting for him and Romero and Berrios to all continue improving and having success).
  2. Honest question: How is facing high A pitchers going to help improve his ability to hit major league breaking balls? Wouldn't he be better served getting his practice in at triple A (or double A) where the pitchers have much better stuff? The worst pitchers in MLB are going to have way better stuff than 99.99999% of the high A pitchers.
  3. I feel like I'm going to be eating crow about being adamant last offseason that trading Sano would've been a horrible move. Now I wonder if his value will ever be higher than it was.
  4. I just don't get this. Our offense has been trash as a whole. If we have these great coaches and conditioning guys in Fort Myers, lets get them with the big league team because the whole damn lineup needs their help.
  5. Getting in shape is not some quick turn around. Are we going to keep Sano in high A ball for the next 3 months because their training facilities are slightly nicer?
  6. I would prefer they discipline him behind closed doors and have him work with the best available coaches and trainers instead. And I feel like it is a safe assumption that the best available coaches and trainers are not the ones we have with our high A affiliate.
  7. He is certainly trying his damnedest to make that true.
  8. Are the dietitians and physical trainers we have working with our high A affiliate better than the ones we have at Triple A? I just don't see the point in sending him to high A. If he is hurt, DL him. If he isn't hurt, even a poorly playing Sano is going to massacre high A pitching and its a complete waste of time when he could be getting reps at triple A. If the coaches down there are so good that we are sending him there specifically for the coaches, then how about we fire the MLB coaches and get the high A coaches up here?
  9. The argument that it is to work with a specific coach makes no sense to me. If we had a coach that was so much better than the rest of them in our organization, why is he coaching A ball?
  10. What the ****? I get sending him down but why would you send him to A ball?
  11. Garbage calls by the home plate ump and looked like he was trying to bait Kepler into an argument so he could toss him. Also, garbage game by the twins.
  12. Not that I really think it's going to be an issue, but at this pace if we were to make it deep into the playoffs, we'd have relievers making well over 100 appearances this season. I honestly don't think Molitor has the slightest clue what he is doing with a bullpen.
  13. Nice to see the bottom of our order string together some hits. Now we need to string together a few more because a 1 run lead is not nearly enough for our pen.
  14. Well, I guess that is one way to "move" the runner to second.
  15. Romero really really needs to get out of this. I can't handle 5+ innings of our bullpen.
  16. Perhaps I wasn't clear, run down was between first and second. Grossman was halfway to second when the ball was thrown to the second baseman. Either way though, had first baseman thrown to second first to force Grossman there, I don't think they would have got it back to first base in time for the double play. I wouldnt really say they screwed up, just wasn't the ideal outcome for them.
  17. Ground ball to the first baseman. He stepped on first for the force and then threw to second and Grossman forced a run down long enough for Rosario to score.
  18. That was a fantastic pick by Sano.
  19. Because he doesn't know the names of any of the other relievers, but its been so long that he's too embarrassed to ask, so when he calls down to the bullpen he just sticks with the 3 names he knows?
  20. Yikes, just turned on the game and first thing I hear is Audra talking about how Molitor said the bullpen is in good condition. I'm pretty sure we'd all beg to differ on that.
  21. Gotta hustle down the line on that. C'mon.
  22. Man, this pitcher is fidgety with his glove hand. Going wild out there
  23. Couple bombs to tie it back up would be nice.
