  1. How many more games is Torii doing? Please say 0.
  2. Yes to both. If you're looking at the MLB as a whole, going off his ERA he has had an average to mediocre season. For the Twins' current rotation, he's certainly been above average, but thats not saying much. And he still has the potential to be an ace. He has the stuff to be an ace and has had games and stretches where he is an ace. Whether or not he can consistently do that over a larger sample size is yet to be seen. He hasn't even pitched 200 MLB innings, bit early to give you a finite answer of what he's going to be.
  3. Nice game so far for Joe. In my uneducated opinion, it seems like Berrios gets inside his own head a lot. When his command is good, he has the stuff to strike people out and jam people up when he gets in trouble. But when he gets in trouble and he doesn't have his command, it always seems to snowball and the hits and runs come in bunches.
  4. If it makes you feel any better, I'm probably half your age and would also miss it or be oblivious and get drilled in the crotch.
  5. No command. Lots of balls and lots of meatballs. Looks more like last year Berrios than 2 months ago Berrios.
  6. Things are often much easier in theory than in practice. Plus, I'm guessing at your age you'd miss the catch too.
  7. I guess at the end of the day, the guy reaching over the wall for the Buxton home run missed it entirely, so it's all irrelevant this time around.
  8. I understand if its coming at you and at risk of hitting you. I don't understand the people who reach 3 feet over the outfield wall or are almost falling over the 3rd baseline wall trying to grab a ball. Obviously I can't fault someone for grabbing a ball thats going to hit them.
  9. I honestly don't understand people who reach way over the wall or lean over to try to grab balls down the baselines and stuff. Quit it. You're a grown man, you don't need a baseball that bad.
  10. So, do we put in Gee now to "start" the game?
  11. According to Torii, bunting guys over is what wins the world series.
  12. And Smalley is like the stoner friend who starts telling a short story and gets sidetracked by 10 other things, and 30 minutes later he still hasn't finished the 30 second long story.
  13. We love to blow 5 run leads, but are we capable of coming back from a 5 run deficit? Also, I don't know if Berrios is gonna make it out of this inning. edit: first inning complete!
  14. Yeah, something is wrong. Whether its mental or physical, I don't know. But he's reverted back into the Berrios of last season.
  15. Gonna be another real short appearance at this pace.
  16. Did Morneau do a full game or was it just the inning or so he was up in the booth? I definitely missed it if he did a full game. Torii is the kind of guy who, in my opinion, is good for a game or a single series in the booth but I do not think he is a good option for repeated use. He's already repeating himself endlessly after only a couple series.
  17. Man, I've had enough of Roy and Torii in the booth this season. Can we please get more Latroy when Bert is out?
  18. I'll take 1 Yu Darvish, please.
  19. I think he was out on that, but I agree that there wasn't clear enough evidence to overturn it. If he had been called out and we had challenged it, they wouldn't have overturned it either.
  20. I guess the loser would be the one footing the bill.
  21. Bartolo vs Sano vs Vargas. Who wins in an eating contest?
  22. Getting that trade value up. Atta boy.
  23. I understand that its fun to compete and watch good baseball, and I'm certainly enjoying it more than the last few seasons, but c'mon, does anyone actually think this team can compete in the playoffs? Our entire pitching staff only has 2 pitchers that could really be considered above average. We regularly trot out lineups with multiple players who wouldn't even make a 25 man roster on other teams. We've been completely slaughtered by the teams who will undoubtedly be making the playoffs. Go compare the Dodgers or Astros or Red Sox rosters to ours and you're going to see an uphill battle in every pitching matchup for us, and their lineups are drastically better. Hell, the Dodgers have a full rotation worth of pitchers that I'd trust more than Ervin or Berrios. And after those two, we don't have a single starting pitcher or relief pitcher who is even remotely trustable. Yeah, I understand that if we make it to the playoffs, crazy things could happen and there is some minuscule chance we might make a push, but that chance is far too low to be trading away prospects for. If we can get a RP or two for cheap to help us out down the stretch, that'd be great, but it'd be crazy to trade away players that could help us in 2018/19/20 for some rentals this year.
