I used to think that the Terry Ryan/Gardenhire era was bad for the Twins hanging on to unproductive veterans instead of going with higher upside younger players but this era might be even worse.

Now all that there is left to do is get rid of Luis Arraez and bring back Sano so we can have the most all or nothing lineup in baseball history.

Any reason why Archer isn't mentioned in the article?

Something that has been mentioned but not talked about in depth in this article or thread is the lack of quality pitching the Twins have gotten back in trades. In no particular order. Johan Santana for Humber, Mulvey, Guerra. Span for Alex Meyer who doesn't seem likely to produce Revere for Worley, and May who is decent but stuck in the bullpen Hardy for Huey and Jacobson I think there are more that I am forgetting. But clearly they have missed adding pitching in every way possible.

I have been looking around online for information on Murphy. Anyone know how Murphy's reputation is with handling a pitching staff and framing pitches?

I wish the Twins would consider trading Pelfrey. He isn't going to be part of the future and I doubt his trade value would get any higher than it is right now. There has to some team willing to take him.

What about Billy Heywood? He should be done with school and did a good job the first time around.

Does Aaron hicks get sent to AAA when sam fuld is healthy?

It will be interesting to see if Butera gets a single to get back at the Twins for trading him.

There's a guy in Japan right now named Tsuyoshi Nishiokia. Maybe he could be our long term answer at ss.

For the Anti-Rushmore Twins how about some players who were so bad they didn't last the season like Sidney Ponson, Ramon Ortiz, Livan Hernandez, Mike Lamb, or even Rondell White who did attempted two seasons with the Twins.

I am assuming you are excluding players from the Washington Senator days because otherwise Walter Johnson would almost certainly be a lock as well.

This going to sound like I am beating a dead horse but I really hope the Twins are just waiting till after the draft to sign Drew because none of the candidates including Santana inspire confidence in me that we have a future big league ss that will be ready soon.

If only we could combine his hitting and Florimon's fielding we could have a decent player.
