  1. Not to pile on about #2 hitter, but Florimon bunting makes more sense if Dozier and Mauer are 1 and 2.
  2. 6'5" 1B comes in handy. Bailed Plouffe out.
  3. He's batting second until Hicks shows he can handle moving up to the leadoff spot. At least that is my guess.
  4. Like any year, I am very happy that it is opening day. While my expectations for this year's squad are not very high, I am excited to see the development of our young guys (Hicks, Arcia and Pinto). If the Twins are better than expected it most likely is due to those three.
  5. Looks like a very pitching heavy roster, at least with respect to prospects. If I remember correctly, the opposite was true last year. I made it to CR last year for Buxton. Looks like this year might take a little more planning and fit it around a Stewart start.
  6. I also greatly appreciated it. It gave me something other than the forums to read, which got a little gloomy at times. I am thankful that we are finally about to start the season and can focus on what is happening in the games rather than what did or did not happen during the offseason. PLAY BALL!
  7. I am greatly hopeful that Hicks can show some of his promise as a former top prospect this year. Improvements from Hicks, Arcia and Plouffe are reasons I'm not as down on the Twins chances on offense as many others are. I also think Dozier figured things out the last half of 2013. I think he will show improvement from his 2013 numbers.
  8. I would say "less pressure" might come from the fact that he has a better idea of what to expect this year. Edit - Oops, forgot to refresh. Parker said what I was thinking, although more eloquently.
  9. Probably why the Vegas line is 70.5.
  10. Kubel has shown a bit of improvement lately and I wouldn't be surprised if they give him a shot. If he really is done, they can send him down/release him in a few weeks and bring Herrmaan up. Then Pinto probably spends more time at DH.
  11. Very surprised here, as I assumed #5 would be one of the three without options. I guess it makes sense considering Deduno hasn't been starting and the other two have stunk up the joint.
  12. Wow, didn't notice the thread was that old. Clearly opinions have changed since then. My bad.
  13. Yeah, I'm not sure Diamond fits the bullpen well. It has worked out well for many failed starters in the past: Hawkins, Guardado, Perkins, even Swarzak.
  14. Have you watched Worley pitch this spring? I haven't watched him at all, but his stats this spring are well below average and maybe not even as good as awful. I'll take my chances with Deduno at this point.
  15. I guess I would be surprised if Deduno is in the bullpen and Gibson is the #5. Without the issue involving out-of-options players, Gibson might be the #5. Sometimes they don't always start with the best players. I would think they might rather have Gibson pitch on a regular basis in AAA to start rather than sporadically as the #5 starter. He would clearly be the #6 to me (first guy up) unless Diamond is in the pen.
  16. Have we had any starter approach this many pitches yet?
  17. 6 walks for Moore. 85 pitches, 44 strikes. Glad I didn't draft him in fantasy. Don't get me wrong, I'd take him on Twins in a heartbeat.
  18. He jumped at the edge of the grass. It seemed to me he thought he was closer to the wall. He doesn't look terribly sure of himself out there.
  19. Swarzak stands a better chance of starting a game for the Twins this year than Worley does at this point.
  20. Arcia's? He should have just kept running. He made it look harder than it was.
  21. Come on now, he tried. But then the ump called a late strike at 3-1.
  22. Parmelee and Colabello over Kubel.
  23. Forgot about that too. Off my game tonight. Since he isn't eligible for FA after the season, Rays probably keep him through the season and trade him in the offseason. They don't ever seem to let a valuable piece get to FA without getting something.
