  1. Zero reason that payroll shouldn't be around $150-55...other than the obvious of people writing the checks not wanting to go that high. 150 is not out of bounds IMO.
  2. I will really like it if they take the $$$ saved in the signing and invest it in some form in pitching upgrades. We shall see.
  3. I think what you described in terms of $$$ is going to be it moving forward...you could say it already has been as well I believe.
  4. In neither instance did either the Cubs or Twins do anything outside of what the CBA said they could or couldn't do. I think it is as simple as that for either player to think they are going to get paid forward they are going to be disappointed. Neither team broke any rules. Come next CBA I see those rules changing.
  5. If I were Rocco that would be in the clubhouse..MANY MANY copies!!!!!
  6. Bring the squirrel/ the big bats/ hot arms in the pen/a team that plays for each other/ guys would could give 2 bleeps less about our past failures/ a front office and managerial coaching staff who are on the same page/ kick ass momentum to NY and beat some Yankee ass!!!!!
  7. He has been a professional in every sense of the word and represents the franchise well. Overall I would say his career has been that of an average MLB pitcher. If I were the FO i would have conversation about him getting healed up/rested up and staying well this offseason. i would offer him a 2 year deal. My guess is that he is/would be a great teacher/example for the young arms coming up. He would be a solid 4th or 5th starter if we enhance the staff in the offseason. Do we resign Odo/Big Mike add etc? Several decisions need to be made on that front. If he wants to explore more than a 2 year deal I would wish him the best in that endeavor. WIN TWINS!
  8. I doubt it exists but a Tim Laudner buck-ninety fan club above the 15 on the back of the jersey would be sweet...if you know the buck-ninety fan club than you know!
  9. I have an authentic Twins in cursive script with 2 on the back...no name. Bought it in 2010 or '11 for Spanman...then it transitioned to Doz and now Arraez.
  10. That is exactly the place where you will probably land some of the lost treasures.
  11. Agree on all points...Dobnak might be just naïve/young enough to not get caught up in the moment...I think Gibby would be over pumped and try to over pitch what he is capable of...I would have trust in Perez out of the pen in some leftie/leftie high leverage spots. Not sure I would pencil him in as my game 3 starter?
  12. Rich Becker would be classic...follow that up with some Scott Stahoviak action...Rich Robertson from the pitchers side...because of his son you gotta find a Pat Mahomes jersey right? So many roads to travel that would be a blast to see!!!
  13. Will Gabriel be available for postgame 'we hope' press conferences? Will Stu be available for squirrel translation? What does Gabriel receive if he inspires the Twins to win the World Series?
  14. I would submit this to Dear Dr.Dan...
  15. IMO showing up another team would be Cave getting said hit and then attempting to steal 2nd base or if you try to stretch it into a double. In the end your job is to get on base if you are Cave especially when you are trying to stay at the big league level. Obviously the issue in the 'unwritten rule' is the run differential and the count...if it were 3-2 and he grooves a fastball you swing! As a huge baseball fan I just don't get it why a team should take offense to a guy swinging 3-0 in this situation. Yes it is a 7 run lead but guess what...you had 8 innings to do something about it prior to him swinging at a 3-0 pitch. That is one part of the game that needs to get over itself. WIN TWINS!
  16. Quality control within the strike zone is certainly important. Good point!
  17. I believe AZ is also picking up $24,000,000 remaining on Greinke's contract!
  18. I never said they don't know. If you get mid-high level talent as you cited that can aid in making that run how is that 'giving away' your prospect talent? Obviously they are going to reach for the cream of our crop in a trade scenario. That is how the game is played. Other teams are in possession of what we need to improve on the season and perhaps season(s) to come. You go back and forth and if the deal isn't what you want you move on. Prospects are prospects for a reason. They might be HOF players or might fizzle out or land somewhere in the middle. You never know. I never suggested mortgaging the future in any trade scenario. WIN TWINS
  19. T- 4 hours and counting FO...if no additional moves are made,,,VERY VERY disappointing!!! They have to know in their baseball mind as it stands today we don't have it in us to beat Houston or NY in a 7 game series to get to the big show. Assuming they would make it to the ALCS against us and assuming we make it. As a fan it tells me we hope you enjoyed the season but we don't believe the squad is worthy of "going" for it by trading away top prospect(s). Hopefully we see at least 2 more arms coming our way starter and reliever. WIN TWINS!!!
