    Watching the 2 Big 10 / ACC Challenge games tonight, and they showed a graphic of "notable matchups" in this year's games about 50 times and not one included the Minnesota/Miami game. I guess a #10 vs #12 matchup isn't very notable when you aren't a brand name team. C'mon espn...

    They were not taking early jumpers. They had guys standing wide open at the 3 point line, but just kept passing it around, then took weird midrange shots for some reason.

    The outcome was never in doubt, and a 5 on 3 in basketball is obviously not even comparable to a power play in hockey. The whole situation is just unfortunate for the Gophers.

    Being disinterested was to be expected. It was such an intense game, and then all of a sudden the Gophers are just handed the game. The problem is they still have 10 minutes to waste with nothing to gain besides appearing selfish and boosting your stats.

    The last 10 minutes were completely meaningless. The Gophers have played 2 good teams, and they've put it on both of them. The only surprising thing is Nate Mason getting caught up in a matchup with Collin Sexton. I can't believe you're blaming them for taking their foot off the pedal in such a ridiculous situation that they were put into.

    Not surprising if you watched the game. They were half trying the last 10 minutes. Would you really play your hardest when you have a 2 player advantage? I would be embarrassed to do so.

    No. I just mean if a crazy scenario didn't happen, the Gophers would be getting credit for a good win.

    Minnesota got screwed. They were hammering what could be a pretty good team, but no one will be talking about that... A win is a win though.

    If Kepler or Rosario is added, plus swapping out Gonsalves or Romero for Jorge, then maybe.

    Jamir Harris also showed how he has the ability to catch fire from 3.

    Jim Thome should be a 1st Ballot lock.

    Do you see this year's team as a national contender? I think they are. They might be missing that one extra 3 point threat, but they have guys who could come into that role in Hurt, Harris, and especially Washington as a spark off the bench. And I think we'll have to wait and see if Fitzgerald can step into the Eric Curry role as the third big.

    Eric Curry and Daniel Oturu are the center type players you're forgetting. Curry was very good as a reserve as a freshman, and as long as he heals well from his ACL injury, he'll be a very good player. And Oturu is a huge get as a true center recruit. 247 sports has him as the #52 high school recruit in the country for 2018. This season is probably their best shot as a national contender, but they're set up very well for the next few years too.

    Big road win last night against a solid Providence team. I cannot express in words just how much I enjoy watching Jordan Murphy play. He is going to have a huge season.

    Nick Gordon for Iglesias straight up seems fair. I'd make that trade.

    Just for the sake of arguing, the 3 teams you listed have established 1B on their roster, and no team is going to waste a bench spot for 1B only guy.

    It was a nightmare season, and he still had a 4.28 ERA. I just can't ignore his career 3.10 ERA, even with the uninspiring strikeout and walk numbers.

    I don't get Diaz being a lock at all. Sure, he hit a lot of doubles last year, but no team is going to carry a 1B who hit 12 homers in low-a. And it's not like he hit .330 there either. I say there's about a 1% chance he gets added.

    I hate the London games. The Vikings sleepwalked through most of the game and still won easily at least, even though it wasn't the most fun game to watch. An 8:30 start doesn't help.

    I liked watching The Gophs continuously throwing at Josh Jackson, who is probably the best corner in the B10 and has a chance to be an All-American. Now that's good game-planning.

    At least when Ricky was ball-dominant, the offense had some sort of direction. This year's team has no idea how to play together yet. Obviously they need time to gel, so I'm trying not to overreact. I just miss Ricky.

    For how much Thibs is known for defense, I don't get his need to have a scoring point guard. Rubio was seemingly on the block the moment Thibs came in. This team doesn't need a pg who is looking to score. I'd love to have that trade back. It sure doesn't feel the same without Ricky leading the team.
