  1. Correia and Pelfrey did just exactly what some expected. I think TR expected alot more. He has to be more aggressive this off season acquiring a couple decent arms than ever before.
  2. This past spring, I noticed a guy in the Matt Tolbert batting cage almost daily hitting off a tee after practice. I finally asked a friend who is really up on the minor leaguers and a ST holder for the Miracle who he was. "Pinto, he's a catcher and he's pretty good". I'd watch for 5 minutes or so and he'd pull the ball, then go the opposite way, and then up the middle. He just worked and worked, being the last man around most of the time, just like Tolbert did, and Koskie before him. He's certainly not afraid to put his time in, and has a good work ethic. It's nice to see him get a look up here and I really wish him well.
  3. I really thought Pelfrey would be the best pitcher the 2nd half of the season. Was I ever wrong on that!
  4. Diamond goes 7 with 8 k's. He'll be up here before long.
  5. 9-0 now and Diamond having a shutout after 6 innings. Much better game to listen to.
  6. I don't think anything would make this a successful season, other than finishing ahead of the palehose. But some good play to the end by Dozier, Pinto and Colabello would be nice to see and give a little hope for the future. It would make the end of the season go by faster if we could get some better starting pitching from this staff too. It'll be hard to watch if most go like the last few have started out.
  7. I received an article, with a map of the improvements today. To clarify some of the things I didn't understand in the article above, here are what I got out of this one. There will be a new gift shop. The retention pond they talk about is south of the minor league facilities. It's not going away, just part of it. I didn't think they could just fill that in, there's alot of fish in there, and some of my golf balls! If you're familiar with the the grounds, there's a gate that leads into the small parking lot next to the minor league offices. It's almost always open, and we can walk thur there to where every one wants to go, (it's the best place to get autographs). So say you walk out of that gate and across the street, right where I park. That's where the new dorms will be built. Really close to the training room and batting cages and offices. How much of that field will be used I can't tell. To the west is the grounds crew garages. Right behind the new dorms will be the new field. So some of that little lake will be filled in for that. In the diagram, the lake will still loop around from behind the grounds keepers area, around the new field and back to the softball fields. Really still close for watering those fields. Now just down Plantation Road, south, just south of the new field and retention pond it looks like a strip coming in from Plantation, with a new retention pond to be built there on 15 acres the County bought and is clearing. There will be fan parking there, and two new entrances. If you noticed this last year part of it was cleared and that was where the stadium workers would park. Oh, also, a new agility field will be build on the current parking lot which looks to be just east of the minor league batting cages and training facility. That is part of the area where the minor leaguers park. I would certainly hope there'll be a parking lot for them next to the dorm area, there's a lot of room there. Hope this clears up a few things. See you there in the spring!
  8. I don't understand the eliminating of the gift shop. They do a big business in there both for the Twins and the Miracle. I imagine it will just be moved, maybe out to right field.
  9. Demeaning others was not my intent.
  10. Unnecessary? Probably in somes eyes. But a queston was asked and I answered it with my thought. There's no way I could root for the Twins to lose, especially for the order of a draft pick. It's a lost season, as was last, and the one before that, and as next season is. But come spring I'll still be rooting for the Twins no matter how lousy a team we have. Now if next year a third of the way into the season we're dead last and Gardy is still manager I just might be swayed.
  11. What was Vavra doing there? Willingham had it made.
  12. The game is rather secondary tonight, isn't it?
  13. Having talked with TR many times thru the years, I really think he'll resign Justin this off season. He just can't say it. I remember when Aggie walked in from the bullpen and his wife went up the stairs in tears. I immediately said, don't worry honey, you'll be back. I'm even more certain of this with Morneau, if he desires.
  14. There won't be any spark in the Twins dugout tonight, or tommorrow. Gotta get outta Texas and try to refocus, somehow.
  15. Perhaps Willingham is gone by tommorrow also.
  16. Suddenly 100 losses looks much more possible.
  17. He's playing where we are the weakest right now for crying out loud. Any other position would just weaken it. He shouldn't even be mentioned with the 3 players you list, other than carrying their bags.
  18. Horsecrap! I'll bet there's an agreement he signs with us in the off season.
  19. Welcome to my world.
  20. We stole one, inspite of poof! A very nice win indeed. And my main man Morneau blasts another for the game winner.
  21. Somehow, with one hit, we're in this game.
  22. I doubt you see much of Sano next season. I'm talking next season with Morneau. The only way Sano gets much time is if we cut strings with Plouffe, which I'm all for. But, you'd better have Morneau's glove over there. And wouldn't it be great for Sano to have a years experience with Morneau.
  23. I won't be changing my opinion. And I don't read other boards, but I'd say other teams fans that are rebuilding would be happy with a guy that can hit .280, have around 20 homers and drive in 85 or so runs and play a solid first base saving those rebuilding infielders alot of errors.
  24. Plouffe an option for Morneau? Get real! Plouffe shouldn't even be on a ML team and never should ever be mentioned in the same sentence as Morneau. Finding an option for Plouffe can be done internally. There's not an internal option you mentioned that would even be considered for Morneau.
