  1. I agree Monkeypaws. And the IF is a big one. I see an awful lot of posters on this board that assume guys are ready to make the leap, only to find out they aren't. With Dozier, we've bought some time for Rosario to prove he can make the jump.
  2. Wow, what a feely good game to watch. A real nice change for once. Good for the Canuk!
  3. Pretty good balance for being drunk. I'd of been a goner!
  4. Not sure of your memory either, but I doubt Gardy's seen enough of Rosario to make that statement. I haven't seen him since spring training, but really doubt he'll be ready by opening day next year. Nice article though!
  5. There aren't any to give.
  6. Posted this on yesterday's GDT, but not til late this morning, so here it is again" Being one of the few, if not the only not gushing over Gibson being ready, I'm not surprised at all by his outing. However, he is getting ML experience which was going to happen sooner or later. He's a smart young man, maybe to smart for his own good, and hopefully won't over think this whole experience. Slowey? He needs to just pitch and not think, and not announce his object is a 1st pitch strike. They'll be ready to swing, like yesterday. The thing that impressed me in this game was the play of Dozier. It's like he's said to the rest, jump on my back, this train is moving forward. Dozier worked hard in the off season to improve his defense and came right out of the shoot showing that it really helped. He's had a great year on defense! His confidence on that side has just leveled off into just an everyday occurance. But, it's allowed and carried over to his offense. He seems much more confident in the box now and the results are showing. Dozier is surely one of the most positives of this dismal season. It looks as if he's really turned a corner, and I am impressed and thrilled! Meanwhile, Morneau is close to a multi homer game.

  8. I nearly dozed off........
  9. Time to end this farce!
  10. It's nice to see some optimism here, but 2018 is more likely.
  11. I agree with Puck here. Punto was by far the best athlete on the team, and always gave 100%. I always thought his defense was great, and I know he was very well liked by his team mates. It was nice to see him finally get a payday. He told me he made $800 a month when he first started. But he hung in there and worked and worked to get better. I really hated to see him leave. And never understood the hatred toward him, but like Puck pointed out, didn't care for the way Gardy used him. In my opinion the hatred was mis-directed. Nice was a great example of how hard work and perseverance can pay rewards. I wonder if there's any player in the minors for us now that have that drive that Nick had.
  12. I doubt there's a player in baseball that would bring back a David Arias.
  13. I'd rate Duensing as the most likely to go. Never thought of Butera, but that's a very good choice. I can see Burton, then Plouffe, Parmalee being dealt too. It would probably be good for Carroll to be traded. He should be playing more, and plays the game the right way. Swarzak is around an even bet to move too. I wouldn't be trading Perkins, Fien, Pelfrey or Morneau.
  14. I expect Morneau to be here next year. I really wouldn't be surprised, or disappointed if there were no moves now.
  15. I'll pass on all of them.
  16. I read that when Jeff Smith talked to him about running the bases, Sano's response was something to the effect "I'll run the bases anyway I want to".
  17. I won't be watching this one, and sadly only watched 12 innings last night. Deduno is so fun to watch, guess I'll find out how fun it is to listen to.
  18. Diamond finished the 4th, but I don't know if he can polish off a 5th.
  19. What a tough stretch of pitchers for the Twins to face. At least Ploof won't k 4 times tonight. This could be over in a hurry, though.
  20. It's nice to see some others appreciate Pelfrey. I liked what I saw in spring training, and knew it would take awhile for him to settle in, as did he, and the Twins. I'm stickin' with he'll be our best pitcher the remainder of the year. As he probably will be next year, so let's get him signed on the dotted line. Do it quick!
  21. Perhaps that was the morning Jack Morris and crew ate at Perkins in Stillwater and the waitress was a friend of mines daughter. Perkins picked up the tab for the entire table, and Jack left no tip, nada. And Pelfrey continues to impress.
  22. Just a gas watching Deduno pitch tonight, as always. Gotta get him the win now.
  23. TK really doesn't like to talk much. They must pay him enough where he decided to do it a few times. He's really not much of a talker, and alot of times he'll say something and then explain it in a different way as if not all would catch his point the way it came out the first time. I think it's good he points out alot for the kids. I couldn't take to much of him though, even with Bert driving me nuts most of the time.
  24. Trade him for an average prospect? Very few if any average prospects will have 50 rbi's in their lifetime in the majors. Very few will even make the majors.
  25. I don't think Perkins should qualify for both, so Deduno for POY, or else, Fien for relief.
