Because the rotation is set, center isn't. And right now, Meyer won't make the Rochester rotation. We've got alot of starting pitching, good starting pitching, and those towns with minor teams will have plenty to be happy about this year. Some will move thru the year, and Meyer probably rise, but no need for him at the majors just yet.

I too think there's a trade to be made yet. I could see even Burton going and Tonkin taking that spot. I'll be really surprised if some pitching isn't dealt. I see Colabello, Kubel and Parmelee fighting for 2 spots with Colabello and Parm winning, as both can play 1st base. I'm right on with you, Seth, for the rest of the roster.

I want the best team out there, and that means Hicks. You can't compare Hicks and Meyer. Meyer isn't even in the conversation. I want wins first and foremost. Plus, there really isn't any other choice, Mauer can't play centerfield.

Hicks will start in center. He hit a double and a dinger today in the minor league game. And we really need him starting, so there's not a doubt in my mind he will be.

Hicks will be the opening day center fielder, and Presley bench. Florimon played well today in the minors and did hit a triple. He just glides around the bases, long strides, and so smooth. Played well in the field too. He'll be ready to go. I like the guy, myself.

I wasn't referring to pitchers. This team needs some type of offense. That's what I was typing about.

Minnesota Day tommorrow so I'll be there early. Gotta get a Mauer Chevrolet tee shirt. I'll have a reddish Silver Bay cap on. Minnie day is always fun.

I was mostly hanging under the tower, and then back and forth between the fields. I didn't realize you were down here. I'll be over there tommorrow and watching Meyer throw. I'm sure I saw you today but had no clue.

So what would you like them to base their decision on? They had better be concerned with some of the numbers so far this spring. And a couple of roster positions could very well be dependent on these numbers. What if Willingham is hitting .085 when we head north. You'd disregard that? I think not.

Eades had a rough time today, got hit around a bit. But the home team hit better and was keeping a rather large Oriole crowd somewhat quiet up til I left. Berrios looked great, struck out the side in the 1st. Gave up a hit or two in the second, I can't remember, but got out of it. I think he only threw 2 innings. Really nice curve working today.

    I'm shocked!!! Just totally shocked!

I'd take Deduno with no hesitation. He will give us a chance to win every game, IF, we can score runs. But I'm not impressed at all with this team this season. It's gonna be another long one.

This offense will be worse than last season. There's just to many holes in it to put up runs. But at least with the pitching I'll probably be able to watch 5 innings before turning it off instead of 3 and being down 5, 6, 7 runs this year. Once we fall 4 runs back though, that'll be it for me. 4 could be our average this season.

I think we have to keep Colabello if Willingham doesn't start hitting. Colabello is definitely making his case. Yesterday, his day off, but there he was, wandering around the minor league fields.

    1. On game days there's lots going on early. Bp, Good Morning America, etc. Just walk around and look. Once the gates open you can watch that stuff from above in the stadium. 2. Autographs are easy to get. Best time for the majors is when the team is away. After practice they'll sign. And then watch for them to come out the tunnel and walk down to the weight room. The minors sign most all the time except when the games on, but those not suited up are there and will during the game. My friends who get minor league cards signed just had a hay day today. Good luck.

Screen name is a tribute to Halsey, I loved the man! As far as the Sox minor leagues go, I was there last week, and no problem. Not sure about the games though. But you park where the parking guys send you, and walk all the way down the way to the back fields if they still let you.

Beradino told me to look for a linebacker with a blue shirt and a burnt head. I did, and I found!

We must of crossed paths several times yesterday then. If I knew what to look for, I'd say "hey". Think I'll go over now and get a ticket for the berm for todays game.

Not sure why other than the place not being ready, but a bunch of rookies practiced at City of Palms today, including Stewart. There's a big tent set up outside the locker room where the players have lunch now as the work continues inside. Work groups and minor league schedule is on the counter in the office.

Nice rally and win for the good guys today.
