    i stated several times this year the twins need 2 front of the rotation starters and at least a lefty righty relever combo to add to burton,perkins fien and dunny ....to many times we watched as gray or robertson or others let games slip farther away , what is shocking is that curly claims to be chasing starting pitching, i figure with there short armed, low pocket mentality that having the best bullpen is the most we can hope for

    1 resign scott baker to an incentive ladden contract 2 accuire 2 front of the rotation starters ( we have 19-20 player on our 40 man roster and in our top 20 prospect list who will be non factors, use these guys to go get what you need....shields and johnson,once you have these 2 on board, the rest of baseball will think we want to win , not just fill the owners pockets, and signing free agents will be easier. 3 sign roy oswalt to a simular contract as bakers , with say a 3-4 million base salary(why? if hes good he helps, or can be traded for young arms later in the season , and if hes bad send him down to rochestor and stop paying him)

    to me the twins offer 1 million gaurenteed and 1 million per month hes in the majors - dl time that gives him a chance to earn 8 million or it gives him a chance to rehab and come up in june and still make 5 million with what curly is going to chase , baker might be the best of the lot when all is said and done

    im guessing curly will sign 1)kevin correia 2)jaime moyer 3)kevin slowey he will concider randy johnson , but anderson will nix the idea because randy misses to many bats and isnt the type of pitcher this team covets

    so?who gives a rats A** what curly chases he to old and to cheap to catch any decent #1 or #2 pitcher but with waddlin ronnys need to carry 3 catchers , maybe its time to bring the PRICK back ,and sign aj to a 2 year contract ? 1 thing this team has lacked is a vocal leader a prick and straight forward im gonna kill you leader... a j isnt well like by foe but is well recieved by his teamates, his balls in your face, old school play is some thing the twins have lacked for a very long time ... with justin all but shoved out the door why not sign aj to replace morneaus lefthanded power and then you can rotate the 3 catchers between home 1st and dh

    time will tell ,my guess is the notebook of failure joe i was drafted by the dodgers vavra will be a worse 3rd base coach then ullger was .. i dont understand the logic of keeping gardenhire comfortable?if he wants to stay he needs new attitude a new dirrection and new ideas ... he has to stop playing musical positions and playing his subs on a regular baises, and find a pitching coach that can teach or correct the pitchers and knows when to pull them and when to let them pitch through it.

    you think because a person doesnt like management or ownership , or if a person expects more then what the twins will do they should change teams???? hears a little tip , if you dont like what he writes dont read it ....but most learned fans whos noses arnt attached to management rear end know its time for new blood, as for trading for a shortstop why go after a 29 year old if we are not going after 2 front of the rotation pitchers? it will be plain to see if the front office wants to win or just wants to send up a smoke screen by what they pursue if pitching.....if its 2nd and 3rd tier inning eaters why sign a 29 year old when he will be retired before we have a decent starting rotation? Does anybody really think they could get 2 #1-2 starters today without gutting the minors and destroying their payroll? Where would that put them? of our top 20 prospect i see maybe 7 or 8 who may posibly contribute and only 5 that may actually be more then bit players, the key word is maybe,so with tampa and miami in reduction mode jump at there 2 starters josh johnson and scott shields ..even if we only keep them for 4 months and then use them to rebuild our minors .the biggest mistake the front office can make is to sit back and see what falls to us ..now is the time to be aggressive ...if we aint going for it , then trade off what we got and build towards 2015 ,just stop blowing smoke up the fans a**es and claiming we will be competitive ...

    Sorry if someone has already covered this, but... 2b) I believe the Twins said that they would like to add a coach that speaks Spanish. 3a) Yes there is, his name is Jack Goin. His name is on the "front office" list of people on the Twins website. adding AAA pitching coach is a must , last year i thought the twins should have picked up a spanish speaking catcher to be frankies personal catcher and mentor ala pudge rodrequez

    i think you need to start looking hard at ponder after he has 18-20 starts to see what you really have in him as a quaterback. but yes he so far doesnt appear to be a cebrial quaterback

    I like the idea of the question a lot but I can already see the response... "There are a lot of kids we like in the draft and time will tell blah blah blah". Ryan isn't going to tip his hand in next year's draft. On the other hand, if you make the question more about last year's draft and the implied philosophy change that went behind it, I think it would provide a more substantive answer. Agreed, I'm only on board with Ryan staying because of this percieved change in philosophy on pitching. I'd also like to know which of the 2012 pitching class will get a chance to start in 2013. so we draft relievers who wernt good enough to start for there college teams and we try them as starters in the minors , and soon will wonder why they have arm problems?

    What evidence is there that this is the case? The Twins signed Willlingham at a reasonable price, Doumit too. Maybe Carroll. look at the 1st two players former teams? oakland and pittsburg,and the fact that the twins had an injury plaqued year....then take jaime carroll. he was 37 years old being offered a 2 year contract.why would any F.A. want to come to the twins?especially with a lame duck manager.

    so if we signed these 2 , then traded span for shields and maybe throw in escobar hernandez and even hermsen to obtain scotty shields then we would have 4 solid pitchers to start with, and i believe ticket sales would once agian take us back over the 3, million mark. making them truely affordible, add in next years tv increase and morny coming off the books why not spend this year and save next year ?

    im guessing thomas is his middle name , down here in mexico most people have 4 names a 1st , a middle then paternal then finally maternal ,so i think thats why he is listed that way , i will see what i can find out about there schedual and plan a few days to take in some ball , thanks seth for the info
