  1. yes please gardy for washington throw in drew also ,yes we might have to give up some depth from the minors like goodrum and a pitcher or benson or bigley or..but wouldnt it be worth it to have the left side set?
  2. I changed my mind. Garza and Barlett for Delmon was worse. Wait, I changed my mind again. Johan for nothing was worse.......... I guess we shouldn't be shocked that we ended up losing 90+ games two years in a row. always remember and never forget ryan was incharge, but bill had the title of g-m- ryan made all the decisions ryan has been calling the shots since 1994...
  3. with pittsburg looking for a corner outfielder willingham goes there for cole and taillon each of these 2 kids have the stuff to be aces cole hits triple digets and has 3 solid pitches and taillon has 4 pitches and hits 97mph ,for these 2 pitchers i would give up willingham benson hermsen slama, burnnet and florimon in reality the twins cant win until they either up the payroll to 125-130 million or tear it down and rebuild
  4. This is why the Twins are bad now but I think some have too high of expectations of player development. It's pretty common for teams to have several seasons of the draft not produce much. I think the FO noticed this started getting more aggressive internationally which has resulted in some pretty good prospects in the Twins system. which is why they wiated for the salary cap of 2.9 million before they signed any this last june....codo
  5. so your saying trading a left handed reliever with an era of 3.12 to the angels 15th rank middle infielder was good as for stewart he was being given away..what did he get for antana? or hardy? or thome...and before you say it yes bill smith had the title ,but curly had the final say on every trade and transaction....so with garza and delmon and ortiz and and and and whay good is curly ....
  6. can anyone tell me the last time curly made a good trade? If you even bothered to remember AJ for Nathan and Liriano worked out pretty good, Romero for Casilla wasn't exactly a bad trade. Picking up Castillo and Stewart for very little worked out. Trading for decent minor leaguers or players with 1-2 years service has been Ryan's specialty. Trading veterans after their fifth season was also what he did. For what Ryan traded in the past he did not have leading up to 2012. When you're cutting and pasting quotes, get 'em correct. That isn't my quote you've attributed to me. the aj trade was a fluke , curly stated several times he only makes the trade if boof bonser is included. as the boofster is the key player in the deal and the other thing is how many years ago was that trade? as for cutting and pasting i just clicked on quotes then typed if the system screwd up dont blame me
  7. texas is looking to find starting catching , why not pawn smokin joe on them for say profar and olt, maybe throw in hermsen and escobar then trade morneau to toronto with liam hendriks and herrmenn for dárnaud , that would free up 37 million give us a quality left side of the infield and a offensive catcher , with the money we could make a run at grienke and sanchez and still have some jingle in pohlads jeans
  8. i believe octavo has an option year with detroit,if not is a good pickup , someone i wished they added last year with perkins unproven and capps proven
  9. so your sugesting we over pay for 1 of our own?maybe give him a 10 million dollar option for 2014 , but no quarentteed money till we know if his arm will respond
  10. congrates on your promotion to AA
  11. like drew, nishi ,escobar, and florimon?
  12. Guerra is out of options, so (unless something changes later in the offseason) he will head to spring training. He will have to make the Twins 25 man roster and stay on it. Or, he'll have to be DFAd and put through waivers. If he clears, he can go back to Rochester. If he is claimed, that team will have to keep him on their active roster. As for Slama, the FO has already been proven right as he cleared waivers a year ago and wasn't selected in the Rule 5. That's not to say that he couldn't be claimed in the Rule 5, but we'll see. do you know if anthony is hurt? according to mazalans website he hasnt been pitching lately----3 games 2 innings0-00 era im planning on going to watch him on the 2nd if hes still there and not hurt, thanks for any info you have
  13. with curlys track record on trades he would screw up trading span sano and gibson for wells, he would throw in an extra 100 million to pay for there future payroll..when will people realise terry is the problem ...not the answer can anyone tell me the last time curly made a good trade?

  15. and what would you want in return for denard?
  16. so its ok to give drew butera , a roster spot, but not to give slama a look? wasnt there a jones in san diego 30 years ago who no one thought was very good? anthony slama has done what ever is asked, where is the twins loyalty now? they brought nishi up, kept gray on the roster, manship, but not slama? hmm
  17. wouldnt that apply for a pitching coach and manager as well?
  18. november 1st i will head down to mazatlan to watch slama and wise play in a 3 game series2-4th november i hope if the twins arnt going to give tony a shot or he gets picked in the rule 5 draft ....
  19. when the twins released carson and kept butera ,it showed me its the same ole good ole boys network in play.. if span and willingham get traded then we are left with revere, mastroanni and parmele....if benson, arcia or hicks had been brought up in september and shown anything , i would have been a little less concerned, i guess thats why ramirez was kept , but carson if given a chance could have had cuddy like numbers at a very inexpensive rate....
  20. looking at the giants , the As and baltimore and you ask yourself , why not the twins? the reason why not the twins,no pitching and no defense....these are all direct results of the 3 stooges... other then pitching and defense the biggest disapointment last year was getting a runner on 2nd or 3rd with no outs and failing to score 1 run the notorius small ball is lacking , what was once the pride of minnesota is now there demise...under tom kelly(who i didnt like) the twins way was solid d , and well rounded players not 1 dimentional players, now under gardy the twins way is to lose 95+ games a year...sad but true
  21. as for signing scott baker they should offer a 1 million dollar contract, with incentives for each month he is in the majors, say 1 million per month. gibson and baker should not be canidents to break camp with the twins but should be in rochestor till they are proven healthy and winning . as for the stache (pavano) he came into the leaque throwing 96mph and last game pitched struggled to throw 86mph...this 3 time arm injured pitcher should be avoided at all costs, while i think he knows pitching better then most of our players you cant sucseed on heart only
  22. with the rumors or ham and span heading on down the road , i question releasing carson. if both are traded our outfield will consist of revere mastroanni and parmelee, which if we go into a full blown rebuilding stage im fine with, but carson would make a decent 4th outfielder with some pop and a decent avg
  23. hopefuly to clear space on the 40 man roster
