  1. Is the assumption that new people here don't know baseball when they get here and therefore aren't intellectual enough at the beginning? If I'm misunderstanding your post, and some other's posts saying things along those same lines, please let me know. Cause some of us were just posting elsewhere for many years and heard about this great place and came over. That is not it at all. A draw-back of less than casual fans is they assume players can be swapped like RBI Baseball trades. I'm certainly not calling anyone out in particular in this thread (dave, i gave you **** about DeRosa because I've given you **** every offseason for the last 4 years). Why it is said that "new" posters are guilty of this is because they haven't spent enough time on forums to know that it takes more than one team needs a pitcher and one needs a hitter so lets swap! Most on here know that. I don't mean to be elitist about this, and am not calling individual posters or threads out. I'm just saying lets collectively bring good ideas and non-redundant topics to discussion. People can post what they want and talk about what they want so it shouldn't make much difference what I want anyway, just sayin. Like it or not, this whole thread reeks of elitism. A discussion only about what you consider to be worth posting and how it should be delivered? Not elitist? Really? why do i think most of you got beat everyday in high school and had your lunch money stolen?
  2. But see you're demonstrating my point Brock. You say that the better way to judge a candidate is by actions, not words. Except that many things politicians do they do simply to garner votes. I believe there are Republicans that don't mind gay marriage, but stump on it to get votes. There are Dems that believe we need rollbacks of union powers and social welfare, but don't dare vote against it because of voting reprecussions. To me, there isn't one sure fool-proof way to judge a candidate. To bad-mouth using debates, or advertisements, or voting records, or anything else is missing the bigger picture. To me, you need to take it all in and use reason and common sense to assess who they really are. I learned a lot about that in 2008 - I got swept up in a few features of Obama I really liked and totally missed the boat on a number of things that may have given me pause if I reflected deeper on them. (His inexperience, his personal point of view, his far too sweeping promises, etc.) I don't believe Romney is nearly as duplicitous as you say, certainly more than your average politician. But to me, the actual Romney is a better person than the Romney we see campaigning. Which is an odd twist on the usual way it goes. so with a high unemployment rate, you think a man whos biggest contribution to society is exporting jobs over seas and making the 1%ers more rich?
  3. thanks
  4. well for 1 the ass, gm athony something or another got drunk with nishis agent , the twins did there due diligents by watching tapes of nishi then put in a bid(i believe the only 1) on him ...so i would suggest sending someone over there to watch him pitch.. see what hes got and not sit in your hotel room drinking and watching videos as for my transition ive been getting banned here for a few months hahaha go twins , but more importantly go away ryan and gardy
  5. He had 1 bad start in Rochester, which was the first start in over 2 weeks due to being traded and his wife giving birth. He was very good in his last 3 starts up until his injury, along with the rest of the year between AA/AAA with the white sox organization so I'm not sure what you're talking about. from the mlb twins site he started 4 games, threw 17 innings had 11 ks 1 bb and era of 5.19 and op avg .342 he was also 0-2
  6. sean looks like he is balking every time he trys to hold runners on , and i didnt see a curve throwin in the video, do you know how fast he throws and his pitch selection?
  7. rather then try and spend 120 million on grinke why wouldnt we look at shohei otani? an 18 year old out of japan (no posting fee needed) he is 6´4 and throws 99-100 mph he would pair nicely with berrois for the future?
  8. like he did this year?
  9. d-overall i think curly ryan did a good job of sifting threw the rumbage heap to find some arms for the pen , he needs 3 more for 2013 B however in his accountability he fired the guy whos main job is to answer the phone and repeat what the manager says ....hey perkins get warmed up, but let the real culprite keep his job, F i was thinking of giving curly an incomplete, because i think if you fire the b.p coach you got to fire the pitching coach as well as for integrety i give curly a F+ you know when he is lying , his lips move.... overall the twins need to fire the 3 stooges and start over... i see tampas cross checker was just promoted to be an assistant (huff) in what area do we need the most help in drafting and developing players? i think we lost an oppertunity in not hiring him first....
  10. Did it ever occur to you that the rest of us get tired of hearing the same line over and over? We get it. You don't like the front office and management. Now move on or bring something new to the discussion. dont worry i will be banned again shortly hahaha independent site sureeeeee
  11. will the twins look at 18 year old janpaneese pitcher shoheo otani? there is no posting fee to sign him , he is a 6*4 18 year old , who throws 99-100mph, wouldnt he be a good 1-2 combination with berros
  12. you say things like won't and refused based on one season. They have always had a pretty good rotation and decent depth in the minors so your historical trends are kind of worthless. Before last offseason they hadn't signed a FA to a 20+M deal either. The Garza/Young trade was also a first for the org. I've already told you what I would do. Try to trade for Shields (willy or Span), sign the best they can get for 3/30ish and bring back Baker on a 1 yr deal with 2 generous options (10Mish). that's the making of a solid rotation without exposing the Twins to significant long term risk. Your plan of signing TWO FA starters for 4/48-5/75 looks awful when you look at the utter crap that comparable FA starters have done. It sucks to lose but you don't fix teams in FA. other then gibson , what pitcher in AA or AAA can be a front of the rotation starter?and gibson isnt a lock to be one either.. terry curly ryan has drafted soft tossing inexpencive pitchers and wonders why we can not win or go beyond the 1st round of the playoffs? he has been in charge since 1994, how much time do we need to figure out he is in it only as a profit for the company , not to win it all for the team and fans, many bashed ole george stienbrenner, but he tried to win it every year, not just to be the best in the worst division ....
  13. with the pile of horse ploop curly ryan normally chases why not look to joba da hut chamberlin? he might come here if he has a chance to be a starter,at a low cost 1 or 2 year contract , and if he cant cut it we can move him to the pen , he cant be any worse then gray or capps
  14. sure trade for him and colon and cabrea , maybe we can get a discount on steriods if we order enough at 1 time... if the Yankees offered to pay 95%of his contract and took drew butera in trade sure why not,i dont like him he has shown himself to be imoral and a cheater and no integrity.plus he stuck his dingus into a singer who did her dog .. come on really, is he that much of a dog lover?
  15. Yep, his acquisitions of players like Willingham, Doumit, Carroll and Burton certainly led this team right down the tubes. He should not only fire himself but commit seppuku on the mound at Target Field. Do you ever get bored of posting some variation of the same "fire everyone" comment on every thread? i dont mind posting over and over again that the 3 stooges need to go....time for real baseball people ... so untill we see change i will continue to ask for it, thankyou have a nice day =)
  16. his worst move was keeping lame duck ron(larry) gardenhire....what quality free agent will want to come here with the team lossing 95+ games in back to back seasons and knowing some time during the season they will have to adjust to a different manager after adjusting to larryin the 1st place? and wether you choose to believe it or not curly ryan was running this team even when bill smith had the title of g.m. it is time for a complete sweep of the 3 stooges and ronnies posse ....
  17. i think the reason paul molitor wont be with the team as a coach this year is because he might wispher into jipppy pohlads ear.... hey boss the 3 stooges dont have a clue , hire real baseball people
  18. Affordable from Terry Ryan (at least to me....based on the teams history) means players who'll play for a 1 year deal, maybe 2 under the right circumstances Marcum/Jackson are gonna want a 3 yr deal minumum.....Twins have NEVER signed a FA pitcher with that many years & have NEVER traded for a pitcher with that many years remaining (not counting pre-FA pitchers). They are the cheapest team in baseball that has a 90m+ payroll.....this will continue this year. As good as FA went last offseason, nobody got a big deal. They went cheap, but it worked out for the most part worked out for the most part?96 losses, and once again the cancer curly ryan rebuilding this team.....
  19. where and what team is the red headed step child anthony slama playing for down here in mexico?,id love to go watch him pitch and give a report on him
  20. because if paul is with the team he might get near jim pohlad and wispher in his ear......curly ryan and larry gardenhire dont know what there doing
  21. does curly ryan still think boof bonser was the key player in the a.j. trade? and what kind of photos does he have to blackmail jimmy pohlad with to keep his job?
  22. does he still think boof bonser was the key player in the a.j. trade? and 2 what kind of photos does he have of jimmy pohlad that allows him to keep his job?
  23. with david (moe) st pete as da pres. he will never bring up a kid early and let him become a free agent during his peak , thats why they retard a players development by keeping them in the minors for 5-7 years and bring them up at age 25-26 years of age ,its all about the money , as moe says , we needs moe money for jipppys brinks trucks , we need to reduce moe payroll, we need moe kinds of sushi to sell dem fans....its time for all the 3 stooges to go
  24. if you took the 2011 payroll and adjusted a modest 7%inflation to it then 2012 would be 120million and this up coming season would be 130 million ,which is what the twins need to spend to be competitive in 2013, but they need the right guy spending the money not cury ryan ...this guy thought boof bonser was the key plaer in the a.j trade,he got nothing for santana(remember even when bill was g.m. terry was his advisior and had imput on every trade and transaction) we got 20 grand for thome in 2011 and in 2012 the phillys got 2 top 10 prospects , so with this bafoon in charge you might as well cut payroll to 30 million and for those keeping track of revenue, dont forget what the twins recieve from mlb internet broadcasts ... in .2011 , slightly over 2 billion split between 30 teams
