  1. well in that case why not send out some non roster invites to say brandon webb scott kazmir? just to name a couple ?sign jose veras, upside players for little or no money
  2. kc fien and burnout for haren and 6 million?
  3. haren is off the market is now a chicago cub i can see tomarrows mlb rumors , the minnesota twins were in on haren heavy till the angels wouldnt pick up all of dans 2013 salary and throw in trout for nick blackburn , terry will be quoted as saying he cant understand why he couldnt make the deal? but hey kevin corriea and liriano are still out there
  4. haren is off the market is now a chicago cub
  5. after being part of the 70s oil boom and working it till joining the military and returning after my hitch there were some stupid people not all worked in the boom , where money is sh*t will follow, dealers hoes thiefs republicans ,but besides these most of the oil trash people were pretty good people, last may i sold my farmstead rather then continue to deal with the inflation and rebuilding of minot ...if you dont walk around chasing hoes or asking for drugs and being a little respectful you should have no problem in the basin , my nephew who i took out to my rig when he was 5 years old is now nieghbors youngest tool push and keeps asking uncle john to come run a rig for him , i loved growing up in the patch , starting to sismographing at age 16 and moving to rigs as a 17 year old ..save your money have some fun give ,em 8 hours of work for 8 hours of pay ,and be careful sh*t happens ,good luck
  6. I don't think they can. Offers to Otani will be limited by the cap on international signing bonuses. And I'm quite sure the CBA limits their ability to get around it with offers of a guaranteed contract. so now there is a slot system to minor leaque payroll?a player can only earn 50,000 a year?75,000 a year?
  7. hahaha twins need pitching , pitching, and more pitching , then designate there 2nd best starter hahahaha
  8. so earlier today rumors leaked out that curly chased santana and his 5.19 era as a starter for 2013 , when that failed ryan outrighted samuel deuno and his sub 4.50 era....hummm guess curly and the 3 stooges know what there doing
  9. unless ryan trades all of our top 20 prospects and willingham, morneau, mauer and span , deuno will be back
  10. so that means he was 1 run better then the rest of our starters?
  11. dont worry terry ryan knows what he is doing , there will be plenty of pitcher in febuary wanting to come to minnesota
  12. alexi casilla claimed by baltimore, i figured he would end up in detroit
  13. so how many of the top 50 free agents will terry ryan sign ? 6? 3? 1? 0
  14. Yeah, Willingham and Doumit are terrible. that was after 1 season of 99 loses, now its not a fluke but a fact...
  15. aint no free agent comimg to minnesota willingly...well not if there any good
  16. if the twins want a pitcher from japan they should look at 18 year old shohei otani.. the twins have a few dollars left from the 2012 international signing bonuses, they should make an offer now and give him a 3-5 year quarenteed contract of a million per year , in lou of a big bonus...but thats if they want to aquire pitching ...
  17. dont worry have fun enjoy the winter and know come march terry ryan will have a world series caliber team ready for us to watch and buy season tickets for ...go terry you da man
  18. new twins site up and running ¨¨twins fever¨¨ catch ithe fever
  19. So first to back up your point you make an assumption that is extremely favorable to your viewpoint? Cmon. The Rays have never acted in a way that is restricted by such limited, conventional thinking. They won't be taken to the woodshed in a Span deal because of some perceived "need" for a certain type of player at one position. Leadoff hitters don't have to play CF - they can address their OBP needs in other ways without Span. Your entire premise in this thread is built on the idea that we have Tampa right where we want them. That's hardly the case. The deal makes some sense for both sides and is worth exploring, but it is a bit far fetched to think you'll land Shields for Span. Just as it is that you'll land a top SP prospect for him. with tampa looking to shed payroll and fill needs from excess same as the twins it looks like a good fit , we may have to throw in some non factors prospects like hernandez or hermsen but they aint going to help us so trade em
  20. Clearly...the point was more about if they are gonna trade Span or Revere, the perfect fit would be TB and the perfect time would be now. TB won't exercise Shield's 2014 option and won't re-sign him, so they need to trade him soon. Teams know this if the twins dont move fast and show other free agents there serious about competing ,i can think of no reason to come to twinkie town and hope not to lose 100 games,so get shields or johnson now...or sit on your thumbs and tell the fans we tried but no one wanted to take a cut rate offer and come here excepts capps and moyer.... the twins need to decide if there making a run at a title or rebuilding the only thing you get from straddeling the fense is sore balls so either go big , or rebuild , just quit blowing smoke up our butts about how you think you put a competitive team on the field in march and april then complain in june ,,,,, god bless the working people and go twins
  21. comgrate mike , thanks for your time here as a twin , wish we could trade gardy for redmond
  22. I have to agree! To sign a set-up guy (irrespective of how strongly qualified) to more money (a lot more!) than the closer (Perkins), would "upset the apple cart" and cause considerable friction. Perkins would be demanding a contract renogiation and threaten to never re-sign. I think Ryan stated that the bullpen was the #2 need because it's far easier (and much cheaper) to obtain two quality RPs than one quality starter. Three new SPs is a daunting task--especially for a last place team! But, two starters and two RPs is easier, less expensive, and likely to result in exactly the same increase in wins, given that the Twins would not be attracting three "front of the rotation" SPs--at least one of them will be a #4/#5 type SP. there are only 3 reasons a quality starter would sign with the twins ... 1 we grossly over pay him 2 he needs chemotherapy and is getting treatment at the mayo clinic 3 he is in the witness protection program .... god bless america go twins
  23. You had some good points going until this part. Please tell me you were grossly exaggerating just to make a point. yes i was pushing the truth , but look at the way he manages, would cal ripkens have been the new iron man? would ken griffey jr. made his major leaque debute before the age of 25? on another note ....r i p pascual perez , may god bless and keep your family safe god bless america go twins
