    What do those two things have anything to do with the topic at hand? Yes, Mike Trout would be in the majors by now with the Twins (assuming he produced similarly in the minors-plus no injuries), it's really not that difficult of a concept. The Twins front office isn't the bumbling bunch of idiots that geniuses like Thrylos and others on this board try to make them out to be. yes they are.... plain and simple

    When you're given time away, it is a wise idea to not return from said time away bad mouthing those who gave you the time away. The first amendment has nothing to do with a public internet forum. Those running the forum have every right to ban, suspend, etc. any user that violates the terms of service. Perhaps a refresher on those terms would be best before spouting off against those who do such a great job running this site. and what did they have for breakfest?

    in fact the ownership group from baaaston , loria and the commish PUD selig were all charged with the rico act in 2002 but once again the good ole boy network slipped off thr hook , now pud is looking imnto the trade?? hahaha what a joke selig is just sticking his hand out for a little taste from loria , if you look at the contracts that all 3 signed they are backloaded , as loria intended to trade them all any way ..time for pud selig loria and the wilpons to be removed from baseball to keep the games intergraty

    why not santana , if we can get him for opium (other peoples money) if the mets were willing to pick up 67-70% of his contract why not trade for johan and his 2 time sore arm? then bring back loco liriano , with santan and cuellar here to help frankie , he might finally put together another quality season...yes i know we are tired of him , but does any one really expect curly to sign any one better? personally the most we can hope for is the KEVINS slowey and correia, and maybe a signing of moyer or pavano .... as st pete and ryan do not want to lose there bonuses for slashing payroll, i wonder how much they pocketed for dropping payroll 18.4 million last year?

    Theo Epstein is very likely smarter than anyone we have in our upper management...I have little doubt he'll turn that mess around He did sign Lackey and Crawford .... and Daisuke Matsuzaka. Julio Lugo and Renteria. look , your each complaining he signed several players...who did the twins sign....if you dont swing you dont hit a home run ....its better to have tried and lost then just sit on your thumbs hoping to recieve a bonus for reducing payroll...

    Evidently the Cubs didn't check with thrylos98's source. I heard talks broke down when Baker got wind of thrylos leaking inside information. Seriously though, I'm bummed to hear that Baker left and even more bummed to hear that this is the going rate for pitching. I don't think this is going to be the conventional thing we'll see. One has to think the Cubs overpaid quite a bit to pry him away from the Twins, seeing as how much he liked it here. I really don't mind losing him. He's a huge question mark after TJ and the Twins are not in a position to gamble rotation wise. i read this as scott baker believes he has a better chance in 2013 to go to the playoffs with the cubs then with the twins, you see a patteren? nathan cuddy,kubel,thome,baker....the home town heros are bailing on this sinking ship.....

    gee i remember 91-93,nathan was a quality starter, but now a dam fine closer, still here is a young left handed hitting catcher... the only reason he was traded was to make room for joe...so after 18 years terry( im not )lyan , has made what a hand full of trades?and most we have been bent over on ....time for the 3 stooges to go

    just a thought , but if the mets are looking to dump salary , why not trade hermsen and boyd for santana and 15 million?

    Your best bet is to draft well, or trade for a top pitching prospect, then lock him up while he is still under team control. (see: Kershaw, Verlander, Cain, Felix, etc etc) It seems like the teams overpaying out the ass for starting pitching on the market tend to get burned more then they get rewarded. baker,blackburn , and slowey?
