    If indeed the twins are having a hard time signing pitchers, will Mr. Ryan concider improving the middle infield ? If we are truely building towards 2015 which players in our system will emerge as our everyday shortstop? While starting pitching is our biggest need, we do have several needs to shore up,if you cant fix the rotation maybe we can fix other areas? Terry missed out on not signing Marcia Izturis the day he filed as a replacement for Casilla,and a posible starting shortstop. To me there are only 3 candadites avalible now ,Drew, the 30 year old guy from Japan, or the kid from Cuba who will soon hit the free agent market

    With Napolis contract hitting a snag with the Red Soxs,could the reason be Joe Mauer has waived his no trade clause, and the Red Soxs and Napoli are agreeing on compensation for breach of contract?After watching a perenial post season team becoming the worst team in the American Leaque for 2 years running and no hope for the future, did Joe decide playing in Minnesota friendly just wasnt enough to be ladden with a team going now where fast? If so what could we expect in return for Mr. Mauer?

    To me , i am amazed that we would spend that kind of money on a non asset type of player, after this year who is going to offer us any thing for him?if we are building for the future shouldnt we sign players that will help us in the future,or players who will bring us prospect in a trade?

    agreed, does terry ryan not know the difference between an asset and a retread? with lim ited funds he just threw away 20-25% of our resourceson nothing,last month i said i believed once terry was done signing pitchers we would wish jason marquis was back with us...prove me wrong terry please prove me wrong

    Time for a cleansing breath. A few of the Twins apologists are all pink and puffy-cheeked and are undoubtedly still holding out their predictably unnatural hope, but I think Worley and Correia are it. Maybe there's a Joel Zumaya clone available? On the bright side, both will be good candidates for eminent flippability back to the NL come July, so that Hermsen, Wimmers and the 2012 Cast from the "Fame" remake can close out the season in the starting rotation with Diamond (Gibson will likely be shut down or severely limited by the end of August). kasmir

    i would rather have butera...ok really deuno,devries,walters hermsen,vasquez,hernandez...at least find out if these guys are prospects or suspects, but correia has no value, a career 4.5 era add in the n.l-a.l conversion and your looking at an era between 4.75-5-00

    With the heat down in San Diego, the ball travels better than it does back here. Not a great move by the Twins, but one they clearly needed to make. uhhmmm why? dont we already pay a waste of a pitcher 5 million named blackburn? if we are building for the future, why sign a never was,a dinasour with no trade value? wouldnt we be farther ahead to see if devries,deuno,walters vasquez hernandez hermsen have any future or value?

    like i predicted, next up kevin slowey and the return of the man called stach ... why does ryan not get it? why can he not understand the difference between an asset and a reject? we havew better options in hermsen,deuno devries walters and blackTURD guess ryan needed to remove payroll to qualify for his bonus for slashing payroll again

    After the disaster of 2011 the twins earned 26 million,they cut payroll 18 million and in 2012 earn over 32 million(im seeing a pattern here) I guess we need to see the big picture,if Ryan reduces payroll to around 78 million this year ,then maybe ownership will earn 40 million for the year.Also we would qualify to recieve profit sharing, and a lottery pick.So thats a double win for the team , just not in the won/loss colume

    The Minnesota Twins need to expand payroll and become players for upper tier free agents or commite to rebuilding, straddling the fence only gives you a case of blue balls,so either go get Hamilton , Sanchez and a shortstop,or trade Willingham,Justin and Joe and really commite to the future....

    huh? the twins and every other team are allowed to spend a set amount in the draft including a set amout for international signings,and they didnt spend there allotment in either case last year

    wade davis and james shields are off the market as they ended up in K.C. me thinks the twins are between a rock and a wet spot next year

    of the 3 who had a higher obp? Ben , Span or Carroll? and Mastroanni was .003 less then Revere also i wondered if Rick Ankiel was a cheap insurance option ?
