    Agreed,if we got Profar and a pitcher from texas, or Xander Bogaerts and A pitcher from boston, then used the money to sign Hamilton and Sanchez,along with a catcher ,say Byanan Pena wouldnt we be farther ahead in the game? even though i am on record as saying joe mauer is a top 5 all time greatest catcher.....

    justin morneau has lower value at trade deadline... we have 3 options with justin ! trade him now, so the team has a chance to recieve a draft pick if he is offered a qualifing offer in the next off season 2 extend him now or during the season hoping to get a hometown discount 3 watch him walk away hoping he had a good enough year to offer him a qualifing contract(top 125) to recieve a compensation draft pick in 2014

    Mlb rumors reports Terry Ryan will listen to offere for everyone including Morneau and MAUER so does that mean Ellsbury in cf,and Lester in the rotation? If you click the link there it takes you to a cheap and irresponsible twitter post, and someone has sent a reply that states they re-listened to the broadcast and Ryan said Morneau and Willingham. Mauer was not mentioned. I have not heard it. Thanks

    Given this market, they're not going to get somebody as good (much less better) than Mauer for $23m. It doesn't make any sense to trade the guy because all you have to do after that is go overpay somebody else. With salary inflation this year and next, i expect joes contract will be looked at differently

    may 647 Ks in 525 innings , and whorely 1.52 service time and had a bone spur removed in september ... ok now that is done who is our centerfielder? do we give hicks and benson a chance to step up in spring training or is darren our guy?

    Apparently, John Manuel identified two guys who he thought were the top two on the board, both of which had that kind of stuff. Lara was one of them and Domingez(?) was the other. Neither was picked, not by the Twins, not by anyone. I'm not busting on Manuel, or on the Twins, or on the other GMs. I think it just shows that there is a lot of unknowns in this process. But I'd sure be a lot more excited about a big arm like that than I ame about Pressly, FWIW. I just thought Lara could compete with Robertson as the twins 3rd lefty , or maybe able to trade to keep him in our system

    I do not understand how we passed on selecting a 2nd pick? Lara who hits 98 mph lhr was still avalible and reports have him pitching well in relief in winter ball

    Actually i suggested this earlier , not the R.A.Dickey part , but signing Liriano and trading for Johan . with a spanish speaking pitching coach and adding a spanish speaking catcher , reuniting Frankie with his mentor could add up to catching lightning in a bottle, i would tade some of our top 20 suspects and ask for 22 of the 30 million Santana is owed,as for suspect s, maybe Morales, Salcedo and Hudson Boyd

    Revere is a great fielder, but Hicks has a few tools that Revere lacks. I would be alright with the trade as long as that what we would get in return would be at least a SP better than the potential free agents that they have been linked to during the beginning of this years winter meetings, not to high on Jurrjens' out there. i would take another high reward prospect in return....building towards 2015
