  1. Today Baltimore bought Johnny Monell, a left handed hitting catcher from the Giants, the kid has power , anyone know if he has any semblence of defense?
  2. Sorry Me bad, We dont get that radio station down here near Mazatlan
  3. And my point was Ricky is a #3 or #4 type pitcher
  4. Ok what do you think it would take to get him , and how much will it take to sign him?
  5. So at slightly below average,Samuel was the best rated starting pitcher? hahaha last year we were bad, do I think DeDuno is an all star ? No but to me you have to let him compete for a spot in the rotation, but then again , Im all for making each pitcher compete and take the 5 best North
  6. His agent reported that Samuel had some kind of surgery last fall on his shoulder...wether it was just a scope or if they tightened up some things in the rotocuff im not sure
  7. Um Jeremy, he is a 3/4 starter on most quality teams, but to us...he looks like Cy Young, Not saying signing Ricky wasnt a very good signing, but is only the 1st step.If we have Mr. Nolasco as our Ace coming out of spring training , Me thinks it will once again be a very long season , unless we catch a lot of breaks
  8. Just remember if we dont spend it , they put it in there pockets and dont return it to the team the following year,Also by putting a quality team on the field you regain some of that 700,000+ fans that stopped coming, basically every 100,000 fans equal about 5 million dollars. So if we can regain 600,000 ticket sales we will have an extra 15 million (1/2 of 30 million) to spend on payroll in 2015 ....
  9. He struggled to hit 90 mph the entire season, he normally is 94mph, so that tells me he pitched hurt the entire season and did a decent job, and if he was only replacement level that is still better then 89% of the rest of our teams starts...wasnt it?
  10. Ok so if we dont add anyone and like last years centerfield fiasco, then what?
  11. Last year 3.83 ERA? sincerly he was our best pitcher, when he was here, and he was hurt the entire season
  12. 1st, I had to look outside and see if 4 horsemen were riding by, I think this is 1 of the few times we agree ...Scotty was a darn fine pitcher for us , not the Nancy many made him out to be. If it came down to signing Baker or Johan , I sign Baker, I also sign Baker over Pelfrey...But the real question is, can we get him to return ? After several bus tosses and several non players questioning his toughness, he might not want to come back
  13. If we could get Mike Pelfrey on a contract simular to what the Giants did Vogelsong , then sure ,If not we still need a coupla pitchers who are capible of being #2s or 3s,Which I dont think mike is able to be
  14. As Bob would say , baby steps.....Now that you have Ricky, maybe others will be more willing to listen when there agents approach them with an offer from Terry, Now that you are on a run , sign a couple more quality pitchers (Garza,Kazmir) Navarro and Chavez,And head into the winter meeting only looking to Tweak what you need to ,Like trading away Doumit and a couple others for prospects
  15. Closer to 4/64 million me thinks MLB inflation is closer to 6-7%
  16. If your going to do something like that may i suggest lookong at Kemp from L.A. they are looking to trade an outfielder and would be willing to eat some of his contract, not sure what we would have that they want, but he would fill a need for the team,Not that Cano wouldnt, but like others have said , Me thinks Canos power numbers fall while playing 81 games at target field
  17. To me , Gibson needs to have a spot in spring training to earn a regular season spot in the rotation...no freebies.
  18. While Phil Hughes is my pick to click, or to have the Korreia affect , (bigger stadium and not having to face the beasts in the east 72 times,) It would be nicer to have Garza and Kazmir, even if those 2 are no locks to be healthy.
  19. Another aspect is the players mentality, Me thinks most game in 2013 , players went into the game hoping not to be blown out by the 3rd inning, having 2-3 veteran starters who are decent lets them go into games with a we got a chance attitude , while that is not great it is an improvement, and for me , thats what I want to see. The Twins Improving
  20. wasnt the over and under out of Vegas 64 wins?
  21. Take out 32 starts from some of those AAAA pitchers and insert rickys and it is a vast difference , Yes Curly Did Good ....To be honest , there were no F.A. pitchers this off season that made me giddy , But this signing at those dollars is a big step in the right direction ..Thanks Terry keep it going,Now sign Kazmir,Garza ,Chavez and Navarro. But take time to have a happy thanks giving
  22. (off topic and I hope I dont get banned for it ) Happy Thanksgiving to all Twins fans ,and players ands personel...and a special blessing for our troops , god bless you all
  23. Garza or Kazmir, and Navarro and Chavez(or some one who can platoon with Trevor ) and I give them a 9...if we dont sign a better pitcher then Ricky , then its a 3(which is 2 more then last year)
  24. We are Twins fans....only in 87 and 91 ,we wernt disappointed =)
