  1. Dont we have like 6 back of the rotation guys already? Nolasco is a #3-4 guy, now if we can add a #2 we have a good chance at .500+, as of now we have a shot at finishing once again in 4th place in the central , unless we have some luck ..Ham rebounds, Waldo and pinto step up,and Worely,DeDuno are healthy, but by adding another better pitcher who knows, sooner or latter our luck has to change ...doesnt it?
  2. No im not drinking ...for those who are wondering
  3. Hey Terry , NICE JOB kudos, now that your getting it done, lets keep going and sign Garza, Erick Chavez and Navarro
  4. with out looking it up , Me thinks he was just under 200 innings (199.1) with Miami and the dodgers)
  5. Gotta ask , you seem to be down on Santana , is there some thing I am missing about him?
  6. SVD being in the publics eye and having a team that has more then struggled the last 3 years will open anyone to crititsim. You have your Ryanites and you have the other half.Im also guessing if you walk around saying your boss is worth less then a dung beattle , you dont stay employed very long. While Terry has some very good traits , he also has some bad one as well. To me Terry Ryan takes more joy in signing florimon, a player who the other 29 GMs didnt think would work out , and goes on to have an ok 3-8 year career, then to sign the 1 player who all the other GMs want, who goes on to be an allstar
  7. I would go Rosario and Gibson , not to sure If I would give up more then that unless we could sign him prior to the trade
  8. Ryan makes more then 1 million, geez his bonus is more then that
  9. My guess he is last years Kevin Correia ,Terry sees what players are asking for, so lets sign somebody, anybody ...And maybe later sign somebody better.as long as Mike gets 16 million or under for 2 years Im ok with it.Especially if we add a better pitcher or 2 later
  10. Are you saying Viagra ,aint viagra down here in Mexico? untill last july, you could walk into any Farmacia and buy just about any drug made without a prescription
  11. Agreeing, Unless we are going to sign 2 front of the rotation pitchers and some power, we will need a bounce back year from Ham,and a couple break out years from the Kids,Just to get to .500
  12. In early October , in 1, 24 hour period we heard from the Owner, the Pres and from the GM, the owner said we would spend and sign F.A the Pres. said that maybe we should do more in the international market and the G.M said we need to build from within.....Im guessing you are 1 of those who still believe anything Terry says ? You know 3 pretty darn good pitchers and all. As for St.Pete, dont we still have almost half our international allottment still avalible to spend?(with 16 Y.O. Mayky perez the #9 ranked player still unsigned) Alas the owner, what player have we signed of value? yes it is early, yes we need to be patient , yes they get paid to make the decisions, but its like believing politicians...
  13. Outrage? me nope, like i posted earlier asking Terry to run out and spend early and fast is like asking a goldfish to climb a tree...but my point is , the Twins need several players, not just a couple of spots to fill.Wouldnt of been a good idea to target the players you want, (who fit in your budget) then jumped right into it, if they refuse then go to plan B, then plan C. So in december you can look at other ways and opptions?
  14. Whew..Me bad , while Doumit was a decent add for the 1st contract, he just isint a guy who should get 400 at bats in a season, especially in the outfield
  15. So if your kid went sky diving and the vast majority decided to jump without a parachute , you would be ok with letting your kid do the same? The other teams have 2-4 holes to fill while we have 12 or more, so shouldnt we get a jump on the rest of the teams rather then sit back and wait for things to develope?
  16. While pitchers are more easy to hide on a 25 man roster,To me it is better to take the best avalible player. If there are 2 or more who are very close, then you take according to need. But that is just me
  17. Or could it just be that ole familar Curly shuffle? wait to long then have to sign whats left. After all the big clubs pick and choose Or run out and sign another KC (yes he did better then most expected) Me thinks that is what most fans are worried about.
  18. Ok so your saying keeping Doumit will improve the team? Dont we already have Arcia,Parmele,Willingham and Pinto who are going to need time in the DH spot?Do we really need a 3rd catcher this year? If needed, a catcher for 1 game couldnt Joe slide back behind the plate for 1 game or half a game till the plane lands for Rochester?
  19. Well Im guessing you are not the 1st one here to think I am wrong, but Im guessing we wont see a 95 million dollar payroll this year, so that gives us a pair of 2nd tier Pitchers, or a catcher for 7-10 , a starter in the 3rd tier Range and maybe enough to find help at 3rd....as for spending money? we still have about half our Internation money left sitting on the table , and a young kid ranked #9 who throws a 95+ mph fastball. So untill contracts are signed its still just smoke to me, and yes sir , I could be wrong
  20. Ok let me say it ... Doumit is at best a backup and even that is barely an option with his latest concussion, as for him playing the outfield ...it should never ever happen again....find a taker for him and upgrade with Jones as a rightfielder/1b/DH
  21. They also DFAd Garret jones.....just another plowhorse in the outfield or is he worth taking a flier on?
  22. This discussion is moot, in 2011 Terry wanted to swap out players for lesser players and lower paydays, He did , he had a plan and he targeted those players ...in 2012 we heard the team was in on several players and nothing was done except over paying for K.C. Agian this year we have heard we are in on Tanaka,Haren,Arroyo,2 Santanas and Salty, along with several others. Untill the contracts signed it is all just smoke .
  23. While I understand your sentiment, and dont disagree. It is not Terrys way.Yes it would be nice to sign a pair of starters Like Garza and Jimenez, and maybe Arroyo or Kazmir. It just wont happen, we are not going to compete in 2014 , we are waitting on the kids to get here, and this front office doesnt understand about obtaining quality players in free agency, then trading them to build a minor leaque system. So just wait, tommarrow has a bright future .
  24. In your plan what role does Joba have? starter, reliever?
  25. With several teams looking at Hughes, including Huston and Miami, it will be telling if he lands in 1 of those 2 places
