To me it sounds like the Draft order , the team with the worst record gets 1st dibs if more then 1 team bids the max. While I think he could slip by Miami and Huston , I dont see the Cubs or the Sox letting him pass. If he does land at our feet then for 20 million and something close to 75 million/5 we could add him,but I think our chances of him dropping to us is 0.001%

Its not a bad contract , Just like with A-RIOD the Yankees will have the commish discover he did some thing wrong and will hand him a 211 game suspention thus voiding the last 2 years of his contract

So when Sano arrives he will start 162 games a year, he wont struggle ? Having a veteran presence would only help the kid, someone he could talk to , yes thats what we have coaches for , and with adding Paul it should help,but last year it took our infield coach 140 games to figure out Trevor was playing to deep on most pitches

Then why not use some of that money to improve the team now on 1 or 2 year contracts? Couldnt we improve the team by adding solid defense at 3b,even if it was only a part time player, couldnt we add an outfielder or catcher on a short contract, or maybe stacking our roster with a couple more relievers? These players would use the money this year , but come off the books in time to use when we expect to compete , or sooner if we flip them mid season as trading chips for prospects?

Looks like they are spending there savings on A-RODs contract. Im guessing they will sign another player or 2 who have draft pick compensations attached to them, as of now the Yankees lost 2 picks

Good point , if it wasnt for a rule about trading a F.A. signee until june , you would wonder if the Marlins would dump him for a prospect before the ink dries on his contract

To me Chavez is a good pickup or Juan Uribe, why ? both will improve our defense this year and come june could mentor Sano as they both are spanish speaking players, to me you sign them to a 1+1 contract and make it known , the better they coach, the more we will keep them . Its not like we will bring Sano up and he will start 162 games a year or wont have some bumps in the road, and having an older spanish speaking player/Coach will only help him through the ruff patches

Yes i to like Erik Chavez as a platoon and mentor for trevor ,on a 1 year deal, he would also tighten up the D there, but another posibility is Juan Uribe....if you wanted a solid defense . Juan is your guy,I think 4th rank in defense last year for 3b,could be had on a 1 year deal or maybe 1+1,Maybe a flier on Derrik Robinson , (this years mastroianni)
