  1. I kind of agree with you, but I do still have some HOPE that the front office finds some important support from that secret new investors group.
  2. Give the fans SOMEONE to hang their hat on!!! if you trade away everyone the fans want to watch, you will be trading away even more fans.
  3. I totally agree! It did nothing for him or the team to bring him back too early. Now it has set him back with less progress before spring training starts again.
  4. well in my book, he's failing at THAT! Long term season ticket holder here who quit buying them 2 years ago because of retirement. I was sad then, not so much now. I am old, so I can sit at home and watch the Brewers just as easily as I can watch the Twins, and probably be happier. I feel sorry for the young players who have basically been brought into a losing situation when they THOUGHT they were going to be on a good team.
  5. Don't expect too much of new ownership anytime soon. What "new owner" is going to surface with the current dumpsters on the field.
  6. And for those of us who have been Twins fans since 1961 and are approaching or in our 80's, there isn't that much more time to wait. I've actually started looking at the Brewers and Cubs as a more stable place to watch.
  7. This was a great common sense answer! I watch and go to baseball games for entertainment. I love the game and love getting to know the players by their 'game', but I think sometimes the articles are written with far too much angst. It's a long season, and players will have ups and downs. I partly blame the negative reporting for dragging some players down. Imagine if YOU were the one who always had to face scrutinizing absolutely EVERY task you did in your job. Thanks mikelink45!
  8. THIS!!!! We were season ticket holders for 30+ years and gave up our row two seats two years ago for financial reasons. It's tough on a retiree's budget. Now I still have to pay to watch them on TV, and the coverage is less than optimal! If you aren't going to give me commercials, then let me see a live picture of the field between innings and I'll feel like I'm at the game. Nothing exciting about the on field play OR the TV broadcast these days.
  9. Please let us know if you get the regular games that way. We had to resort to the paid streaming option, but this sounds easy if it works.
  10. I agree with this. It's kind of the "Twins way". Unfortunately for those of us who always cheer them on, I get tired of always seeing the players we love to follow finally grow into their roll, and then they have to leave for greener pastures. I'd like to see some of them get a chance to do the Kirby and Joe thing and stay around for a career.
  11. We were around in '94 when the strike shortened season happened. Going to the ball park after that was pathetic. Sometimes the fans in the stands barely outnumbered the players. At least it seemed that way. It was one of those times when you could hear individual conversations between people on the opposite side of the Metrodome. I kind of feel like another shortened season could kill baseball as we have known it. It took years to recover from that strike. Now I am the one feeling like giving up on MLB. Perhaps it's time to no longer buy a full season behind home plate. Frankly, at this point, I'm doubting I would miss it much, and it would be nice not to spend the $9,000 or whatever it is supposed to be this year for our tickets.
