  1. I would love to see an analysis of extra inning performance since they put the runner on 2nd base. We can never seem to score the runner from second and rarely bunt them over to start the inning. Outman was 100% going to strike out. That was inevitable. Getting that runner in seems like a true measure of A) your Manager and B) your hitting coach. We have been awful from the jump and I would love to see the numbers.
  2. There is no defense of dismantling the bullpen to get pennies on the dollar. Obviously, it was a salary dump. There's no justifying giving up every good bullpen arm for a couple potential number 4 starters, when we have plenty of those. Blowing all of these leads late makes total sense. Losing them to the White Sox just drives the point home. This is the most embarrassed I've been for a Twins team in a while, which stinks because they still have some really good players who deserve better.
  3. I would take the proven commodity every time. We know Julien can hit. We don't know what Lee will be at the major league level. Give me those oppo homers at the top of the order. I loved watching Julien hit last year. Let's not trade that away.
  4. I agree it's difficult to assess the team with all of the injuries. But I don't think it's difficult to assess the coaching and training staffs. Bad luck with injuries can be real, but when it happens consistently over many years, it's not luck any more. How many incoming pitchers actually get better w/ our coaching vs completely fall off the table. I know losing our pitching coach was not great, but why would he leave mid-season? There has to be a reason and I am comfortable putting that on the front office and/or manager. And promoting the bullpen coach when your bullpen had been underperforming brought exactly the disastrous results you would expect. It's time for Baldelli to go. He certainly cannot manage the lineup or bullpen. And the team has continued to play without heart or intelligence. That must fall on him.
  5. I understand the season is over and we need to start thinking of flipping some assets, but why Berrios? He's our only decent starter? What are the odds we flip him for two good starters that can help us in the near future? I don't see us giving up are one good piece for 2. Cruz makes total sense because he's 41 and is a great rental option for a contender. I guess I just don't have the confidence in us flipping Berrios for 2 good starters.
