Thanks; I have only been there once as a 12 year old boy when my Father wanted to go to Mexico and get some Tequila, while on vacation.
We went to part of the town that looked like some thing you see in Westerns and we went into a bar. There was one gent sitting at the end of the bar and the bar tender spoke no English. Dad let the bar tender know he wanted Tequila, and the bar tender came back with what looked like a gallon. Dad said no, no a small bottle.
The gent at the end of the bar soke English and said to get a small bottle, go down the street to the liquor store and told us how to get there. Things were a lot different down there back then.
I have a neighbor in my home town sixty miles West of the Twin Cities, that is a Mezcal/Tequila semi-fanatic, or was till his wife got a bit unsettled; I have had a lot of different varieties in the past 5 years.
