    1) I like what Toronto did, but that doesn't mean the Twins HAD to match them. Not every year you are in the mix necessitates huge moves. 2) The Twins needed to do more, Ryan has mismanaged the pen all year. 3) angst over Ryan's inaction is justified, but it has tipped too far to expecting the Twins to do something huge or else it was a failed deadline, as if there is no gray area. I would hope there is no pressure to HAVE to do things regardless of the value/sense of a move. So many false dilemmas by both "sides".

    Obama's charisma is several times greater, they aren't even in the same ballpark. She's a fine politician, but she is no presidential candidate.

    You can't be unknown, have little notable achievements, and be a rather average charismatic figure and be a presidential candidate.

    I disagree that it was non-contextual. It was in the context of a dreadful approach that involved mostly prayers of pitchers throwing non-strikes and blooping in weak contact, coupled with work habits the team was publicly calling out. There was plenty of reason to toss our hands in the air.

    She has absolutely no national presence.

    The research was done previously on this site that put his putrid start in context. As I recall, by some measure, it was in the all-time bottom 1%. I just don't (and won't) have access to providing it for awhile.

    I will have to dig up the numbers later but the problem is you broadened it a bit. His first season was the issue, but I'm mobile and digging up the numbers will be tough. I know he was in the bottom 20 or so players ever for quite a stretch.

    He was as obviously overmatched and scared as any player I have ever seen debut. And it lasted two freaking years before we did anything about. It was such a disservice to him.

    No, it really wasn't common. His career start was one of the worst in baseball history. I think people have sugar coated how awful he was in their memories.

    Smerf stole my thunder, but my god Rosario has insane plate coverage. The guy makes good contact on all sorts of junk.

    It's a huge deal for both sides. Gomez fits a lot of needs in a spacious CF. And a good haul for Milwaukee too.

    They don't have to be honest, this is a hundred million dollar industry - where the hell else are many of these countries getting money for conservation?

    You mean like creat a giant vacuum of suck in CF? Smith addressed SS with Hardy and SP with Pavano. He also added a player in Young who was widely revered around the league. The Span/Garza parallels are really an excellent way to expose this hypocrisy.

    Anytime you deal a SP and SS for an OF and UTIL it's a bad idea
