  1. It's crazy to think we may not see Hughes or Perkins throw until 2018, if they do at all for the Twins ever again. Hope he can at least leg out a few more years and his arm gets healthy enough for his career and the rest of his life.
  2. =http://s2.quickmeme.com/img/3d/3d7063fd7341ab8e10f7f5fd285b326796b3d9bf6eabc0ee13f3e202a5af0da7.jpg
  3. At least if it's my wife I can use it as an excuse to order Chinese food.....
  4. Altuve is a seriously under-talked about force of nature these days, wow.
  5. I'm not bad either, but I also don't enjoy eating my sandwich while someone thinks making out with their dog for "kisses" is particularly appealing either. Your dog/cat/fish/hamster doesn't care about a brewery. Just leave them at home. And I'm sure we can find an alternative to dogs and guns for safety. Like, I don't know, decency and mutual respect. It's generally less hairy and slobbery.
  6. I was going to suggest the gene pool could use a thinning of most pet owners. If only people were that obnoxiously doting about their kids.....
  7. I'm still really curious who this "bunch" of guys we'd be missing out on in favor of May.
  8. Those of us that are allergic would prefer another option. Not to mention how much I'd prefer not to have to wade through dog hair for anything I need. Robots would be better, until they decide to overthrow us that is.
  9. Taking an active shooter simulation and turning it into an actual active shooter is a really, really dangerous scenario. People may have their guard down and underestimate the real danger in that situation. Scary stuff. (And I agree, that argument is asinine)
  10. Look, I get wanting to be confident about this, but I wouldn't be. I learned my lesson early on when I kept writing this guy off, this is something different and if that confidence nationally that he'll be defeated becomes too confident....we could be in some serious trouble.
  11. I still think this election has enough wildcards in it to not get confident. He's been saying obnoxiously stupid things for months and spending almost no money....and winning.
  12. Yeah, I tried making sense of that infographic and it was just so cluttered I gave up. There is a lot of turf in the north - dreadfort, Umber's territory, Karstark territory - all up for grabs. I can't imagine he lets any of those vassals keep their turf.
  13. If he Arcia situation has taught us anything I think our only candidates are Buxton, Kepler, or Nunez. Anyone else is far too precious.
  14. I was just about to post that! Those guys are pretty damn reliable.
  15. What "bunch" are we missing out on?
  16. May didn't stink. He was a young pitcher learning his craft and was improving. The vast majority of players go through a learning transition to the big leagues, for god's sake let them breathe before you write them off.
  17. Personal preference....I guess it would be better to have hard data. It may also be difficult to narrow down because "streaky" isn't a consistent thing. Dozier has been a borderline bench player for 5 months, does his last three weeks really make up for that even if his OPS says it does? That doesn't feel right, but I'm curious to see what FG says to Mike's question.
  18. Also, let's dispel the notion that 2 months of awful play aren't a problem, even if you go on some kind of binge to make it look better. Every game you played in those two months you became a liability to your team winning games. I get some guys are streaky, but I'd like their hot/cold streaks to be much shorter lived than something you can describe as taking place over "months". And we're not even on "months" any more, we're on "years". I think his waning bat speed is sapping his ability to hit and I don't think it's coming back any time soon. And we basically have him cemented into a full-time gig at 1B for the forseeable future. That's a huge problem.
  19. Same thing I would've done circa November: start him. There have been whispers that relieving has been the cause of his injuries. Do right by the kid and let him be a starter. It also happens to be best for the team.
  20. Heh, with what is about to march on King's Landing I think the sickly Arryn kid could take back River Run by himself once the troops clear out.
  21. yeah, she would have had to incapacitate some serving girls I'd guess. Frey had a lot of sons if I remember, I think the ones she killed were his eldest. But it's hard to remember that clan in detail. I'd imagine this will embolden the Tullys to take back their castle again. Especially if all the Lannister forces are required to fend off the insurmountable odds sailing against them.
  22. The Hound's redemption is two-fold for me: he braves the fire required to fight the Walkers and faces down his fear and I could see him dying to save Sansa/Brienne/etc. In the end he dies a true knight and not just some freak who benefited from his familie's cruelty for the Lannisters.
  23. I'm starting to wonder about that (Mountain vs. Hound). I know Cleganebowl has been around for awhile, but these two are moving in opposite directions. It would require Sandor to go solo down to KL and join up with Dany and her forces and the show seemed to imply he was heading north with the Brotherhood. My guess is the Sand snakes avenge their father and take out the Mountain, but I agree the Hound is her key for redemption.
  24. I guess I assumed she only killed his sons. Where did you get the idea the women were killed?
