  1. One of their guys thought he had 102 strikeouts. Stupid carrying the one or some such thing.
  2. Their post-trade comments make it very clear they will be playing him at catcher. So, yeah, I don't see why they did this either.
  3. I agree about this class, but i would give Claeys some credit for the defensive guys.
  4. Glad that all signs point to this happening. It should. It needs to.
  5. Defensively. And the o-line is pretty damn good. So, yes and no?
  6. All of Twinsdaily is part of the "No Smerfs" club. Just to put salt in the ol' wound....
  7. I hope the Twins are open to taking on some payroll to help sweeten the pot, if indeed the Dodgers have some financial interests at stake.
  8. I agree, but the problem is we have been sold for awhile that Leidner could be, or would be, more than that. And he never even managed to be all that mediocre.
  9. I agree that the line play suffered badly in the second half. But good lord some of those interceptions were inexcusable. Bad high school QB bad.
  10. This thread is going to get derailed. Doubly so when we think UZR is anything like ERA or BA. UZR is relatively better than fielding percentage like 106 degrees is relatively cooler than 107 degrees. On the topic, these guys are saying and doing all the right things.
  11. While I agree with you Dave, there is a risk of allowing rampant, non-factual propaganda to be widely spread. It's a constant source of division. It's one thing for PT Barnum to screw someone out of their nickel for a show, it's another thing to sway political opinions (or entrench them) with bull*$&^ dressed up as the real deal. On the other side, facebook is highly valuable for me as someone that has lived in Chicago, Minnesota, Arizona, etc. and have friends everywhere. But the hell if I'll indulge twitter with more than two minutes of my time. That cesspool alone is justification for our species to be annihilated from the planet.
  12. What! A front office that will *gasp* call other teams?!?!? Are we allowed to do that? Would anyone even recognize our number if we try?
  13. People didn't take him seriously. It was months into the campaign before that happened. You ignoring people on facebook does absolutely nothing to their habits. They'll still patronize those sites and believe the content. That's the problem.
  14. I don't think ignoring it makes it go away. That didn't work with Trump.
  15. Fire dave's posting ability.
  16. Yeah, there seems to still be a belief that if the Dems just stay the course that the country will just automatically be in their pocket with changing demographics. Conservatism will always offer a sanctuary for those that don't like the way, no pun intended, that liberalism is progressing. The real key is all that you said Chief, stand for something you can do to make people's lives better and stop getting caught in the weeds of political correct nonsense. Elements of the left are becoming as scary as the right wing in their beliefs about suppressing other points of view, protest, and the erosion of commonality through identity politics. Buck those trends and go back to being about helping people.
  17. If I'm a D-backs fan I absolutely love this trade. We'll see how it works out, but it's the kind of trade you should make as a rebuilding team.
  18. Segura for Walker is a good deal for Arizona.
  19. Great site guys, it's come a long way with a lot of hard work and dedication. You should be proud of it.
  20. Well, it's also about keeping the league competitive and viable. Making player acquisition about money, even with caps, could put that in jeopardy.
  21. Also.....I absolutely adore this editorial.
  22. In other news, Betsy DeVos is a horrible choice for Sec. of Education. Ugh....
  23. How much of that is due to wanting some "veteran leadership" and that sort of thing? I feel like, in the aftermath of the trade, there was a lot of that kind of talk. Like gunnathor, I just don't see McCann as a viable catcher much longer. So a younger, cheaper player that doesn't cost you prospects seems like an easy choice to me.
  24. Get back to me when there is actually evidence for this. Otherwise it sounds a lot like what Republicans say about voter ID fraud. And that's a total sham.
