  1. Development and adjustments are a major problem for this team and have been for the entire Falvey regime.
  2. Yeah, I'm not ready to write off JJ. It's still in the unknown category for me. Felton is a guy I definitely liked a whole lot less than other dudes on the board (looking at you Skattebo!) but there is some mystery there too. It's just not nearly enough impact drafting. There was a graphic during TB/Detroit about all the hits Detroit has had in rounds 2-4. It's a crazy disparity.
  3. If he doesn't start in Detroit....it is definitely time to riot. And yeah....Kwesi's draft picks are a problem right now. Turner has not made a jump this year.
  4. I think you're missing the point. Yes....the playoffs are a crapshoot. Yes....you can lose with any build you want to go with. You seem to acknowledge the issue here at the end of your post, but you've also been disagreeing with it for four pages for some reason: Building a team with no power is going to take away a major element of winning games in any sample. In the playoffs you don't go up against a bunch of 8th guys out of the pen or 5th starters. So a team that relies on scraping by with 4 hits to get one run is going to give themselves a harder road to win. (Because the quality of your opponent's pitching is going to reduce those chances in a small window) It can still be done, but what is being argued that you are disagreeing with is that a team full of a bunch of slap hitters with no investment in power is taking away a major weapon in the playoffs. That's all. The ability to field a lineup that can hit bombs is a vital element to winning.
  5. I'm going to keep that link on hand everytime I have to remind people that the playoffs are just a random small sample we've put a **** ton of importance on. But it is still just a random small sample. Prone to all the crapshooty randomness of any other small sample.
  6. I don't mind the Darnold decision one bit. Would've been nice to keep Daniel Jones around though. I'll eat my hat if Darnold ever wins a Super Bowl. The path forward was to stop with retreads whose ceiling is capped. (Though I stand by that Baker Mayfield was a guy to target)
  7. Sending the house on that play....huge mistake. 3rd and long B-Flo.
  8. I don't have a problem with the 4th and 2. It wouldn't have looked so bad if Wentz hadn't thrown underneath and then taking a sack.
  9. That sack was a killer, like Olsen said....just heave it into the crowd.
  10. Now you have to kick.
  11. Woof, that third and 13 really hurt.
  12. You have to take the points, it's a field goal game now.
  13. Helluva play by Redmond right there. Potential game changer.
  14. This has been a well called game by KOC. His QB has been awful.
  15. Absolutely, but then the punchline is on the actual people and their reaction to the sign. This punchline appeared to be "Har Har...there's still racism". The only takeaway is that it mocks people who don't like racism? I think? Maybe we're just splitting hairs on a wildly ineffective delivery of the joke though.
  16. Who'd have thought a joke with a punchline of "Hey guys - racism is still around!" didn't work......
  17. IMO.....the Keenum run was just luck that fizzled as decisively as it deserved. Much like last year. It's fun to have those years, lucky or not. But I'd actually like to be there again for reasons other than luck. McCarthy is the only path to that in the next few years on the roster.
  18. Yeah, would've been nice to have both leagues put out a good series....but the Dodgers are just a payroll juggernaut. I don't anticipate the World Series being much better unless the RNG gods of baseball playoffs decide to get involved.
  19. As mentioned, Prielepp for sure. I think we may see another starter move that direction as well. I think it's worth pointing out that the Twins have had pretty good luck developing at least competent (to good) bullpen arms out of failed/transitioned starters. It's just a lot to ask in one season. But they gotta take their licks and prepare sometime.
  20. I can sympathize with that stance. I'd rather develop the kid. Partly because at least part of the work they did (Allen and Hargrave) haven't brought the impact I expected. Not to mention the offensive line devastation. I've just been on this carousel of "Our QB isn't good enough, isn't young, and isn't the guy" long enough to try something else I guess.
  21. Yeah, 100% great points.
  22. Trading for a long-term answer at 1B seems like priority number one this offseason. Even more than bullpen for me.
  23. What's weird is that they've done some things right in terms of trying to help a young QB. They've tried to have a stable offensive line in place, a good defense at times, veteran playmakers. But yeah...something is just broken there. (Either they are misfiring on guys like Skoronski, Latham, Calvin Ridley, Trey Burks....or they're just bad at coaching them)
  24. Baker Mayfield is something else.
  25. This might be the worst collection of 6 quarterbacks playing since the 80s. (All due respect to Baker and sorta Love, but the other four.....woof)
