  1. I don't feel like Cleveland's 16 (leading in Game 17) winning streak is getting much national media attention. Maybe it's because I no longer watch ESPN but it certainly feels like the 2002 A's streak or any streak of over 3 games by the Cubs, Yankees, or Red Sox got way more pub than this team. I want to hate the Indians because they are in our division but I can't do it. They have been quite impressive the past two seasons.
  2. I have been very unimpressed with the defense of our catchers this season,
  3. That was an impressive double play.
  4. That just seems bizarre. I hope he pitches eight innings of relief.
  5. Rob Brantly warming up in the second inning for the White Sox, according to Richard.
  6. It makes sense to trade Rosario if we can land an Ervin Santana type pitcher in return and it makes no sense if we land Scott Diamond. Even if we go half way in between and get A.J. Griffin I wouldn't do it.
  7. At this point in the season, I'd normally be ecstatic and say a win is a win, but it was a really annoying game from beginning to end. Rosario (who Dick constantly reminds us hits lefties as well as righties), Kepler, and Mauer ALL needed the day off? Give me a break. This is a postseason race. And the pitching moves of taking three guys who spent a good amount of time in Rochester was not very inspiring. It ended up working out today but I certainly don't feel good about how this game played out or was managed from beginning to end.
  8. I went to a Rays-Twins game there in 03 and got two balls (only because we were the only people in a four section radius) and got circled. I still had fun.
  9. TRADE HIM!!!! LET TYNER (I MEAN GRANITE) START!!!
  10. At least they're getting their slump out of the way so they can get hot in another week or so,
  11. What is wrong with these two managers? Starters sailing along with a low pitch count and let's bring in mediocre left handers just for the sake of making a move.
  12. What about the other 37 pitchers picked up and discarded over the course of this very season?
  13. Now that everyone has had their runs complete and it's Bert the rest of the way I'm interested to see if any opinions changed. Anyone grow on you? Get tired of anyone?
  14. The Rangers pick up a coveted one run win but if their pen wasn't complete garbage it's a five run win,
  15. It's nice to be invested in the games again.
  16. Byrnes and Magrane are criticizing Escobar on MLBN for not making it to third on Gordon's error. I don't know that it makes much of a difference because Gimenez can't hit and he wouldn't have tagged up on Adrianza's looper.
  17. I just learned that Onelki is Spanish for Blackburn.
  18. Without AJ we haven't won a single playoff series since 1991. Think about that.
  19. At least we have extra arms on-hand tonight!
  20. It's like watching Pelfrey labor through 20 minute innings.
  21. The irritating thing is how little it typically takes to get a decent reliever. No one was expecting us to land Verlander but someone that can be a passable relief pitcher would have been nice.
  22. No, but they were consistently better than this year's team. Going into the final month with this pitching staff is terrifying.
  23. I wasn't thinking as big as Verlander. That's not the Twins way. But even a guy like Jerry Blevins or someone has got to be better than our current options and with a very light price tag. Fuentes and Mahay helped the Twins considerably in 2010 and cost next to nothing. There's no reason not to make a similar type deal this year.
  24. With the Twins shockingly still in the postseason race (and even leading the second wildcard spot) and playing their best ball of the season, will Falvine be able to add a reliable bullpen arm or two or a bench bat or are they comfortable with the roster construction as it currently stands?
