    I love this world where no FA is good enough to help this team but the pitching has been awful for ten years. There should be no reason for our goal to be to have Gibson or Mejia in the rotation next year. That leaves us a declining Erv and an improving Berrios and an unusable bullpen.

    After mulling this over for a few hours, I have come to the conclusion that I really don't like change and needless change at that. I understand MLB wants to add a bigger pay day and keep the casual fans watching deeper into the season, but I don't see that need for adding a lesser team and then drumming up a one game winner take all game between teams that are not equals just for a money grab. If I were the Yankees I'd be pissed at having to put my season on the line to play one game to advance. I've accepted it will never change and will probably add more teams in the near future but that doesn't mean I have to like it. If the Twins were not playing in this game I wouldn't be watching the Angels vs Yankees.

    I like how Dick had to explain why they needed ten pitchers to match up with the Yankees. Why? I would rather have Erv pitching to anyone than any one of our relievers.

    Santana and Berrios are obvious and the Twins could survive with one of Mejia or Gibson (but preferably not as the number 3). Outside of Busenitz and Hildenberger who do you really want to keep from the bullpen? Belisle is ok, but should not be anywhere near the 9th inning. Rogers, Duffey, Boshers, Perkins, Curtiss, Moya, Turley, whoever else I am forgetting are not good.

    To be a real contender they need to improve at least seven of their bullpen arms and two of their starters.

    There are about ten guys in this bullpen that I hope to never see again. And a game like this makes me really dread having to watch postseason baseball again where it's just pitching change after pitching change.

    Look at the pitchers and the statistics of the guys they're running out there. Outside of Zimmerman none should ever sniff an MLB mound past, present, or future.

    So Mejia inspired no confidence in me prior to the game. He completely proves me wrong and Molly still decides to over-manage. He is pitching well. LEAVE HIM IN!
