In May he's got a .214..298/.238 with one extra base hit and just five walks. He's struggled even more the last ten games and the strikeout numbers are up. I'm afraid he's reverting back to weak hitting .275 Joe Mauer.
I'm hesitant to move anyone with the current front office in charge. Add to that the possibility of drastic changes after the season is over. For me it's bad timing to move anyone before the trade deadline.
I think unlike the previous seasons of losing the team doesn't even have the great minor league talent to follow. The results of said players have been mixed so far but at the time it was at least something to look forward to.
Patrick Reusse yesterday said that it would be Bob Pohlad that would grow frustrated with things and shake things up. I hope he's accurate and I hope Jim Pohlad steps to the side to let it happen.
What does a lousy team have to lose letting a Meyer pitch further into the game? I personally think Meyer is a lost cause at least with the Twins organization but let the guy stink it up for more than 3 innings.
The Phillies have three good young power arms in their rotation. All three have more strikeouts than innings pitched and two of three have been outstanding so far.
Skid Row is a very underrated band. Got the undeserved hair metal label but much closer to Guns n Roses. They also had the misfortune of hitting it big right before grunge and having crazy lead singer.
This entire Prince tribute reminds me of Kramer not wearing the AIDS ribbon. Let each player should decide if they want to use Prince music. The purple wrist bands are completely unnecessary and undeserving. The singing of 'Little Red Corvette' only makes me ask why did it take until he died?
Reusse said he wasn't liked by teammates because of his arrogant attitude. His press release was pretty weak all around. No idea how this happened, wouldn't tarnish the game I love, more upset for my teammates.
I think Mauer is in a really tough spot. His peak was deserving without question but it was 10 years and he's probably going to play for another 8 to 10 years. If the old Joe is back even a little than that helps but playing 1B and DH the counting numbers probably need to be better.
Dan spoke for himself but imo there might be more of a mentality in close losses to think a the breaks will start going your way versus being blown out and knowing you need to get your act together.
In the Oregon Trail that is the baseball season the Twins already have a broken axle, wagon tongue and Glenn Perkins is sick with dysentery. Translation there is no bandwagon to be on or off of. Astros and Pirates for the record.
