  1. Just being realistic. But even if Steer was still a Twin he would have started the season with St. Paul based on Miranda's 2022 season. So Miranda with his struggles was demoted to AAA to make room for Lewis. When Lewis went down it may have opened a spot for Steer. But he wouldn't have had the opportunity to showcase his ability like he's had with the Reds. Hind sight is always 20/20. JMO.
  2. Sorry Sonny. Nice recovery after that rough 2nd inning
  3. Brewers excitement level had that ball through into centerfield
  4. Can't ask for more than that. 3 blocks. I'd have to move. Too tempting
  5. Bullpen looks like it's going to get overtime today
  6. I'll plead the 5th. But she didn't go by Amy when I knew her.
  7. Flash: Satirical article sparks heated debate
  8. He might actually be their 4th best. But that's a different topic
  9. Do you like apples?
  10. I'm with you Ethan. You won't die alone on that hill. I'm a coming, guns ablazing. 🔫
  11. It has nothing to do with like or hate. His defense, his strongest suit has only been avg. Until the past week or so. I already mentioned how every ball hit to the gap he shys away from. He let's Taylor run everything down. He finally ran one down on Tues vs Royals. And same for his wall play. He made an outstanding play to possibly save the game with a sliding catch on the line. He had a similar play vs the red Sox that he completely gave up on. Which cost them that game earlier this year. So he can make the plays but he doesn't give 100% on every play. And where he could really make a difference is by helping out in CF but he has said he'd rather not. Really. That's the guy you want? Someone who plays on their terms. How many triples has he misplayed off the overhang in his home park? And offensively he's been non existent at times and has been chastised by Rocco for lack of hustle. So it's not a like or hate thing. It's an effort thing. But you watch the same games I do and you consider his play flawless. I don't.
  12. And you love him. Oh my, oh my. 😃
  13. There is a blog on TD that states that BA is the most worthless measurement of all.
  14. The only reason a "singles" hitter is devalued is simply because the value of a single is diminished just like a rbi is. A single is just a single unless there's a runner on 2nd or 3rd. Then it becomes a single with risp. But if the runner on 2nd does not score because he's held up or slow then its just a single again. A singles hitter can go 4-4 with 4 singles and no rbi's and his value is less than a player who goes 1-5 with a solo HR and 4 strikeouts. Because it's the singles hitters fault no one got on base before him. And all the GMs are buying it. Earl Weavers quote about the 3 run homer is only effective if 2 guys get on base before the homer
  15. I'm holding all of you TD posters accountable. It's in no way shape or form my fault that you overpaid and underperformed minions can't come up with better suggestions or opinions on how I can right this ship. But as I posted on the white board, there is still time. The season begins now. Right now! I remain popular with the powers that be. But I don't know how long this will last. Now let's get to work. I can only use outside distractions for so long. My psychiatrist has assured me that it's not my fault. Thanks: Rocco
  16. So a good 10 days outweighs a horrible 70 games. Got it. So the recipe would be to play him once a week
  17. Correa was a long term mistake. When the Twins signed him last year for 3/105 I thought it was a good deal for both. This past offseason the Mets and Giants both got cold feet on 12 and 13 year deals. So what do the Twins do. Offer him 6/200. No way in hell do I offer that deal. I go right back to the 3/105 with NO opt outs. He stays hungry which I honestly believe is part of the problem. Guys generally have career years before signing long term deals. Now they're stuck with him. Same as Buxton. No one is going to trade for broken players. Even if the Twins eat those contracts.
  18. If they're doing so well. Or close to norm. Then why aren't they winning? 0-23 risp vs Atlanta. Your rose colored glasses are fogged up and the metrics are too. Under .500. Never been more than 6 games over all year. Correa bad. Gallo bad. Buxton bad Kepler bad. While Castro and Solano Farmer and Taylor have been ok at best. These are the guys that you want to contribute, and not to carry the load.
  19. But you're doing an overall measurement. And I know his swing and miss rate, whiff rate. I get all that. But those are cumulative results. What you're not factoring in is the OBI. The one innining he falls off the rails. And they're as regular as a sunrise.
  20. So don't know how the measurements are. But show the results from that 28-32 pitch inning that Lopez seems to have every start. I'll wager those innings tell a different story. He is exactly what he was in Miami. A .500 pitcher who the only real difference I can see is he has mastered the "sweeper"
  21. You're right. But a 2-1 game vs a 4-1 game. Not having a crystal ball. Big difference
