  1. Hopefully last night was a turning point. Croft looked way better. While not polished, he can move in the pocket and make plays. I'm guessing Rhoda lost his job. The defense still was eaten alive, until that is fixed it's going to be tough to beat big ten teams.
  2. I'm not sure I'd go that far. It's all a matter of numbers. People across the country are disgusted with this administration. If the dems can get them out to vote they will do well. The house is supposed to reflect the popular vote, I think it will be more accurate the next go around. And in 2020 they will redraw lines to make them fair. I think the Senate is more interesting. There is no way some of these senators are going to add to the deficit. I really hope some senators get primaried and face a dem as a non gubernatorial candidate. Nevada could be turned blue in the next couple years due to an extreme candidate.
  3. So much fail today. He wants to pull out of the Iran deal, says he is committed to bribing back judeo Christian values, cut funding to the aca, and wants to give a huge tax cut to the rich. He'll have to come up with some distraction after he get destroyed by the media and doesn't receive any commitments from Congress. See, all this bull **** you did GOP? All these lies you spread? This is the actual **** hitting the fan. Republicans should get destroyed for this.
  4. Jerry Jones is playing a dangerous game IMO. The fan base is for sure on his side, but the players have the power. Black Americans have been through this before. A powerful white man choosing what rights they do and don't have. The players should be willing to sit for this. Force his hand and see what happens, that's what I would do. I'm also embarrassed there are so few white players kneeling (are there any!?).
  5. 27? What the **** are they thinking? This guy barely knows what to do with a lady let alone run an entire depart. This is a terrible decision. I don't care who he has worked for, you don't get enough experience in 5 years to take this job on. Did he even play baseball?
  6. Bonnes, I wouldn't do a deal with any of them right now. Buxton needs to play a season without getting hurt, same with Sano. Maybe I'd be down to lock up Rosario, but I doubt he'll cost a ton after next season. Too many unknowns right now to pull the trigger. These guys haven't done what Joe Mauer did when he came up.
  7. Yes please! I'd love to see the results of any test done by Trump. Of course, he would probably just pay someone to do it for him like he has done his entire life... In other news, NFL owners are now considering policy for kneeling during the national anthem. To me, that would exacerbate the situation. How would you feel as player, other than they are trying to silence you. If it happens, I don't think it will go well. I could already see black players feeling animosity toward Jerry Jones, and if I was them, Dallas wouldn't be high on my teams to play for.
  8. Now a Twitter fight with Corker. Trump is going to rip the GOP apart. I don't feel bad about it, I just hope when the dust settles the good guys win (if it isn't clear who the good guys are, it is the not crazy conservatives).
  9. At least Fleck has been successful. I'm not willing to close the book on him already, this is just a brutal start. He won't win a single big ten game this year and miss a bowl game for the first time since Kill took over. Maybe they will surprise me. It isn't Flecks fault he took over a barren cupboard at qb, d-line, o-line, wr, lb. That isn't easy, but when you see someone failing (Rhoda) and have other options you have to use them. I want to know why we haven't seen Green yet. Croft is just as bad as Rhoda so I'm over him too.
  10. Embarrassing losses to Maryland and Perdue. Really no excuse for 101 passing yards in an entire game. I'm glad I didn't watch it, I'd have come unglued. I don't see another win for this team the rest of the year. Sad state for a team inches from beating Penn State and Michigan a year ago, and thumping Washington state in a bowl.
  11. I loved the P.J. Fleck era.
  12. What is considered constitutional changes over time. I truly believe originalists are acting against what the men (emphasis on MEN) believed when writing the document. Anyone whom believes it should not be updated to correlate with current society will not find much common ground with me. That said, this isn't about an individual's religion. Conservatives love to bring up the slippery slope argument (which I believe is generally invalid strawmans), so using that argument, where does freedom of religion end if we apply it here? The problem I have with holier than thou conservatives is the hyperbole about this subject. A congressman just resigned because he asked his mistress to have an abortion while publicly advocating for laws against it. These women are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Advocating for abstinence is proven to be the absolute worst method to prevent pregnancy. I'll be damned if I sit back and allow people to make women's health less of a priority than everything else.
  13. There were some that pushed pretty hard. I would say Frankin and Warren were the loudest to me. It all comes back to the dems curling up in the fetal position when they should bang the walls. Instead, they focused on bathroom equality. Obama tried to lay low and allow Clinton to slide in. He ****ed that up.
  14. Hearing the Wisconsin gerrymandering case. It is a tragedy Gorsuch is on this court. This is maybe the first in a string of monumental cases expected to be heard. How different our country could be with a liberal leaning court. The civil rights movement was halted in the 70s as the court became more conservative. I have a hard time seeing Trump and the republicans hold power in 2020, so the successful stall tactic used in 2016, could be short lived.
  15. Corker with some really telling quotes today. The cracks are showing in the GOP. With Corker and McCain most likely not inn the Senate in 2019 things could get interesting. I wish more senators would flat out denounce trumps stupidity. Tillerson actually called him a moron lol.
  16. I think the bullpen usage complaint isn't completely fair. It's not like he had a bunch of talent to manage. Molitor was in much hotter water around the trade deadline. Something has to be said about these young guys playing well. A manager not only manages games, they also manage the clubhouse and environment. If he is successful creating a winning culture, that is hard to find. Once the team has a bit more talent and fails (Gardy teams), then I think we can nitpick a bit more. I didn't watch many games this year, but followed threads and results closely. Therefore, take my opinion for what it is.
  17. The conspiracy theorists are going crazy right now. So many people are caught up that it was carried out by a wealthy, white, senior citizen. Minds are being blown. BTW, if anybody has been missing Trevor Noah destroying Trump and Faux News, you should look it up. His segment destroying Faux News about this issue is amazing.
  18. How did so many Americans get duped by this guy? What a horrible thing to say. I watched the clip, and it is very uncomfortable... nobody laughed... or smiled.
  19. That's a thing?
  20. Disappointing loss. I didn't expect much, but 500 in the big ten is going to be a lot to ask for.
  21. Where did you see that about the death toll? I've only seen/heard of a few people dying at a hospital without power. If Bush was destroyed about Katrina... Trump should be put on jail over this response to Maria. The media is barely paying attention to it too. 538 had a piece about the lack of coverage for Puerto Rico. Also, that most Americans don't even know they are American citizens, and are more willing to send aid after they know. Makes my blood boil.
  22. Not watching the game, but 150 passing yards through 3 quarters is a complete joke. Can't win games like that, doesn't matter who you play. How bad has Rhoda looked? The first 3 games he looked below average at best, guessing he is being exposed more. I can't wait for the day the gophers have competent qb pay again.
  23. Wiki is awesome (the byto wiki notwithstanding). They get some benefits and pay in a good amount. Seems like it is one foot in and one out. I'm sure it is better than being their own country, but becoming a state would be much better.
  24. To play devil's advocate... should they not be treated differently? They aren't officially a state, don't have senators or congresswomen, don't contribute to the US economy/taxes (speculation on my part). I don't believe they should be treated differently, just posing a question. I think they should be fully integrated into the US in all facets. We owned Alaska for 80 years before it became a state fyi.
  25. Wow. He waits a week to acknowledge Puerto Rico... and slams them for being in debt. Words cannot.....
