  1. I thought they were thinking about changing the winter leagues.
  2. The Twins might have 5 guys (could be more with Gibson) in the top 100. You'll find a lot more positivity on that board... there are a lot of things to be excited about coming in the next few years.
  3. Unless you're trading for a guy you think can be a cornerstone in the middle of the order. Arcia would fit that bill on many levels for the M's.
  4. What about Willingham and Arcia? Right now Arcia's value is sky high, and would profile to be a very good hitter at Safeco I think. He might not have 30HR potential in that park (who does) but his hitting tools would allow him to rack up doubles and triples. Dealing from organizational strength to organizational strength.
  5. I'm speechless. Actually, **** it. This team is going to be **** for a while, might as well roll in it.
  6. Twins cities. I'm actually in Normal right now and it isn't bad at all. I don't think I'll be looking for a place in the city though, much too expensive and busy. Any opinions on cities to the North? The job is going to be just outside of Minonk if that helps.
  7. Mobile skin is awesome. One thing I'd like different is to be able to navigate throughtout different forums without having to go back to the front page.
  8. The HR's haven't come yet, but its only a matter of time I think.
  9. Just the word binge makes me think of college... and drunk college girls...
  10. Sooo he fails in the departments that can't be measured using stupid statistics right? I see what you're throwin down.
  11. I know I was hard on him, but he deserved it lol. Never said he wouldn't amount to anything, but at some point a guy needs to show some progress to keep top prospect status. This year, he has.
  12. Who says his defense is modest? I think I've seen its pretty good.
  13. RP the reason everyone has wrote him off is he is under the Twins medical staff supervision. Maybe rehab will work this time, but if he needs TJ...... someone better get their ass chewed off and spit out into a new career.
  14. Who is more likely to be an All-Star? At this point it is Arcia and its not even close. Only way Hicks can pass Arcia is by doing what Arica has done the whole season and Arcia falling off. Don't get me wrong though, Hicks has played very well and the top 5 prospects in the Twins system now look like they will be impact players. I don't see what is so close about this. Not many players destroy AA like Arcia has done. Sano has shown one dimension so far, and its power. Sano's power potential might be better than Arcia's, but also has a much higher chance of failing. I'll put more weight on performances at higher levels than ceilings every day. If Sano only had one problem there would be a better argument, but he's a question mark in the field and his contact rate is questionable. Sure he can improve, but hard to put him over player that is 21 and OPSing 930 in AA, and over 1000 in the last month.
  15. From my post yesterday: Scouting Book.com One of the top pitchers in Latin America from 2010's signing period, righthander Felix Jorge is one of the most promising Latin American prospects in baseball. He entertained offers from several MLB teams, but the Twins made the best push after seeing him perform at an all-scouts tryout in early 2011. Jorge wields a 90-92mph fastball with a loose, repeatable arm action and has already shown advanced feel for a quality breaking ball. He's several years away from being a serious force, but he's got the right mix of physical, mental and toolsy makeup... and now he's in the perfect system to develop his potential. BA Jorge, who is around 6-foot-4, 175 pounds, has an 88-91 mph fastball that has touched 92. Jorge, a 17-year-old from Santiago, has a good delivery, a loose arm and shows feel for spinning a solid curveball. http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospects/2011/02/twins-sign-dominican-righthander-jorge Have to say I'm somewhat excited about this kid from reading these scouting reports and watching him throw. He already was sitting in the low 90's at 17 and with that frame he could easily put on a few ticks to his FB. I mostly like his delivery, wish he extended his arm a little more as I think short arm deliveries create more injuries (just my opinion). I do like the push-off and fluid arm motion though. Between him and Berrios, the Twins might have a few high upside pitchers in their system.... unfortunately they wont be ready until 2016. Add a couple more nice pieces though and the Twins might be ready to compete by then.
  16. Hicks has been doing this for for a while now. In the past he's had some nice runs with this type of play, but never sustained for this long, or nearly this good. My biggest issue with Hicks was always consistence, lack of power, and splits from the left side. All of those things have been improved.
  17. After reading about him in scouting reports tonight, I'll take him.
  18. Wow. That is an albatross. I really like Hamels, but not for that kind of money + years.
  19. Right, but what you're really worried about when bringing up a prospect is having them become a super 2 with arb. I forget the exact qualifying numbers, but bringing them up in september would have little impact on it if the Twins plan to have him in the rotation from day 1 next year. If they don't, then there isn't much of a point to have him up unless they let him start.
  20. Arica most recently correct? I know they've done this before, even if it was only for a week.
  21. The Twins had an age test performed on him to verify his age. I've never read or heard anything negative about him yet. He is a teenager with a spotlight. I doubt he is perfect. By the time Valencia was in Fort Myers I had already heard he was an asshat, so I'd think we would have heard about Sano long ago since he is a much more high profile prospect.
  22. Rosario got a start in the GCL today! Also, Felix Jorge has put together a few nice outings. 23. I've never really been high on Gardy. He's improved on a number of things that made him a bad manager to start his career with the Twins, but the things he did well are no longer there. JR should retire or find a real replacement and Gardy should be done. Get new people in here that wont let the inmates run the asylum. This team is a joke right now, people usually get fired for this kind of prolonged ineptitude.
  24. I don't find that too far off. He's being a homer, but the Twins aren't that bad. They've been middle of the pack offensively for a few months now. The starting pitching is what is costing this team games.
  25. Plouffe is going to come back and hit another 10 HR's in 2 weeks.
