  1. Did anyone really expect different? It starts with the top and there needs to be some new blood.
  2. Well, first off he's not supposed to try to fit every pitcher into the same mold. Deduno this season is really the first that was allowed to pitch his own way. Not everyone can throw a sinking fastball.
  3. My hit list includes Rick McWane- Head Athletic Trainer, Tucker Lanning- Rehab Coordinator, Ron Gardenhire- Manager, Rick Anderson- pitching coach, Eric Rasmussen- Pitching Coordinator. None of these guys will end up getting fired, but all should be seriously asked about their role in this cluster ****.
  4. .250 with 30HR would be awesome IMO. The Twins could have a pretty potent line-up next year... even if they have a black hole in one of the MI spots (Carroll finished the season very well and I'd be fine with him next year). At least Plouffesie finished the season strong. Hopefully an offseason of rest and strengthening can help him.
  5. At 23 Walters split time between AA and AAA. He had a 4.5 ERA in 158 IP 70BB 156SO 1.44 WHIP. Hendriks posted 2.2 ERA in 106 IP 28BB 82SO .978 WHIP in AAA after starting the season with the Twins. Walters would have looked promising 5 years ago when he reached AA at 22 and put up some decent numbers. After that season, he was too hittable, and it didn't help he walked a good amount of people. This isn't debatable. Walters doesn't deserve a roster spot on an MLB team. He is a filler in case someone goes down with an injury. That is his role. The one thing you left out is the fact Hendriks has documented talent while Walters has had injuries and terrible results. Lets not make this argument about how a player should or shouldn't act because you have no idea what goes on. I provided clear examples of why Hendriks is a much better option than Walters simply because you offered him up. What more does Hendriks have to do in the minors to be "ready?" He is young and needs to learn to pitch in the big leagues. That's it. At some point in the next few years we will know what kind of pitcher he is going to be by the results and adjustments he makes. That is how player development works.
  6. From my perspective, it seemed like Ponder was afraid to make a mistake. Maybe the play calling was vanilla, but with AP carving up the defense Ponder still wasn't able to open it up. This team is going to be successful this year just because this defense is elite and the ability of AP and Harvin to make big plays. They need receivers in the worst way. That has to be a major failure by this staff in the offseason/draft.
  7. I think we found Lev's man-crush! For realsies though, there should be a consensus that the Twins need to go into next season with their eyes open. For Lev to argue that his hot streak has tainted his numbers, you also should keep in mind he has played hurt which has hurt his numbers. How much? I don't think any of us know, but injuries like that do have a negative effect.
  8. I agree to a point. Sometimes Ponder gets on a roll and looks pretty good. That didn't happen at all in this game. I really don't like him very much and continue to think it was a wasted pick, but he could prove me wrong. I think the entire forum went into meltdown mode after the announcement of his pick. At least he is young enough to have a chance to improve.
  9. OK maybe it isn't disgusting. I just feel like Verlander has been more important to the Tigers and really been a throwback ace for them. I can see the Price love, but think Verlander should get more.
  10. The team will go 5-20 in April and put them out of it before it even starts... again. Put the best team on the field in April and let them play. You will have a hard time convincing me that Hendriks isn't better than Deduno, De Vries, or any of the dumpster diving FA signees the Twins get.
  11. Really? They actually looked pretty decent today. Ponder wasn't very good, but he didn't lose them the game (which is all they were asking I think). They were never really in a position to have to make big plays. AP is back I think and this defense is legit. The secondary really came to play today and having a good safety in Harrison Smith is making it obvious why the pass defense has been so horrible. I don't know if they can beat the elite teams with Ponder, but they already beat SF and the Lions. They really need a receiver that can make big plays to get to the next level. Harvin is great, but he can be neutralized in the passing game.
  12. Yes. Liam will figure it out and be a fine starter. Diamond, Gibson, Hendriks and Baker should make this rotation light years better than this year. If the Twins add one legit starter and several low risk options they should feel good about the rotation going into the season IMO. I think Gibson might make the team out of ST and I wouldn't be surprised if Baker is up by May. I've been going back and forth about Gibson starting with the Twins, but I feel like they have little reason not to if he shows he is healthy this fall. Same with Baker. Once he shows he can throw 75 pitches there is no reason for him not to be with the Twins.
  13. How is anyone voting for Price over Verlander? This is blowing my ****ing mind. Price has 3 more wins and a .08 better ERA. Verlander has pitched more innings, pitched in more games, has more strike outs and his team will make the playoffs on his back. This is not even close to me and it is disgusting me to see so many people saying otherwise. Also, the Trout thing. I don't think someone that wins a triple crown loses the MVP voting.
  14. There weren't going to be at bats for anybody..... there are barely any AB's left! You don't start running guys out there from some place called Rochester just because you can.
  15. I just saying the Twins should probably get some kind of back-up for him going into next year. If he has a 600 OPS come June, he might not have what it takes. I love watching him this summer, but the past few months have been painful. The biggest part of it for me is he hasn't even been able to draw walks. Next year will obviously be a better tell, I just had to raise the question.
  16. Will the real Plouffe please stand up? Is it possible his thumb is still impacting his play so much that he can be posting a .591 OPS in September? I can't believe this is the same guy that was destroying every fastball thrown to him in June. Maybe he is just lost right now and Gardy is letting him work through his struggles, but man I just keep waiting for him to turn the corner again and it just wont happen. I guess this season is about over so there isn't much pain left to endure. Everything about his season had been positive until he got hurt though, for what its worth. I just hope he can come in next season healthy and put together a solid season.
  17. I can't believe people are on board with this. There was a time when I liked Santana, that time has come and gone. What is interesting about him? He's been inconsistent and barely hanging on to a rotation spot. This would be a waste when you can pay that money toward someone you know you can depend on.
  18. Right now the only two that are knocking on the door are Arcia and Hicks. I wouldn't worry about anyone else. Things tend to work themselves out.
  19. He will adjust. It takes some guys longer than others. Guys that aren't big power arms take longer IMO. I wouldn't expect Cy-Young results, but I think he'll settle around a 4 ERA.
  20. non US residents are evil and here to steal all our moneys.
  21. Blackwoods in Minneapolis is pretty good. German restaurant with German beer and wine. I read somewhere about their burgers and wasn't disappointed.
  22. They do it every year. The best was Revere as the guy from Yo Gabba Gabba.
  23. My wife said it is included in our plan, but I have to try it. The app I would like allows you to create and modify the SSID and allow or not allow connections to it. Plus, you can do a little hacking with it (need to investigate this further). The biggest thing for me was tethering, so if I can already do that I might not do it.
